A good winding makes this thing last and last. I haven't used it long enough to know how long it lasts, but i listened to it for 10 minutes on its inital charge before i put it into my emergy kit. Handle is very easy to crank, highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!, December 14, 2007
By
We bought a Freeplay a few years ago, and about 6 months ago bought 2 more. They are great. We leave them in southern windows in various rooms in the house, and just turn the radio on where ever we happen to be. Why pay the power company when you get the sun for free? Even here in Maine, we never have to wind it or plug it in to charge, unless we accidentally leave one on overnight. No, its not a high-end stereo, but for listening to the radio while working around the house, it is just fine.

This product is amazing, how easy to use, reception is good and you can charge AC or crank the handle for power. Speakers work well.
