5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely sturdy stand!, April 25, 2009
This review is from: Dual Freestanding Monitor Stand holds monitors up to 22" widescreen. Uses standard Vesa mount. Clamps to Desk. (Office Product)
First of all. This is an extremely sturdy stand. I have it holding a 24" Widescreen LCD on the left and a 21" LCD on the right. It could fit two 24" but it would be kinda tight (limited arm movement).

Bought from OutletPC. Arrived on the 5th day. Very sturdy packing. Internal packing excellent.

Great instructions for assembly. There are only 3 parts to the stand. The clamp is heavy duty and extremely sturdy. For the price this can't be beat. Uncluttered my desktop and gives so much extra desk space.

As others have stated, it made little sense to spend more on a monitor stand than on the monitor itself. I shopped for value and mechanical integrity; and I got it with this dual desk stand. I have two-22" LCD's mounted on it. It assembled easily and I mounted the monitors all within about half-hour. It is well built and very sturdy. The primary requirement was a desk or table clamp so I wouldn't have to drill and screw the mount permanently.

My intention was to angle larger monitors such that they would touch at the middle, like a lazy-V, so that both active screens would face me directly. My chief concern was that I had to mount this on a desk that abuts against a wall. This particular assembly does not use 'sliding' back-bars to adjust and compensate for varying widths of a given monitor. Instead, it's adjustable Double-Link Swing Arm can be adjusted for a lazy-V or side-by-side flat & straight screen configuration. In my case, the down-side is that the lazy-V setup causes the Swing Arm to "elbow" itself such that it protrudes beyond the backplane of the desk; thus requiring the desk to be pulled away from the wall an inch or so. This is only a problem for very cramped quarters as I have. While I was researching all other mounts with my particular needs in mind it became apparent that this product has every other feature that was superior for the price to most others even though I had to compromise with space available. This vendor also shipped quickly. I'm completely satisfied with this product.

Amazon didn't sell this product. I have to buy from 3rd party merchant "OutletPC". I did some research on monitor stand price and I come into consulsion that I don't want to buy a stand which costs more than the price of the monitor (I have 22-in Samsung Syncmaster 2243mwx monitor, around $200). Believe it or not, some stands are $400! It is just a piece of steel anyway, why spend so much money? I think this product is the most affordable. Setting it up takes less than 30 minutes. The monitor is tilted a tiny bit down due to their weight. It didn't bother me. I can't comment too much because I have it less than 3 months. So far it simply works.

4.0 out of 5 stars Made setup display more professional looking, December 12, 2008
This review is from: Dual Freestanding Monitor Stand holds monitors up to 22" widescreen. Uses standard Vesa mount. Clamps to Desk. (Office Product)
I bought the dual mount monitor back in November. I bought it from Amazon for $80, it looks like the demand for it increased because the price has increased as well. When I installed it on my desk I had to make a couple of adjustments on the back of the desk because the clamp did not fit in all the way, due to a wood board support on the rear of the desk. I made the adjustments by cutting a piece of wood on the rear of the table. Once I fitted in it everything looked good. If you buy this product make sure the rear of your desk has at least 6 inches of space for the clamp to enter with no interference. If you don't know what I am talking about look at the picture of the product and the clamp that hooks on to the rear of the table. This product is good, I have a 22 inch wide screen monitor and a 19 inch regular LCD monitor as a secondary display. This dual mount will give your display setup a professional look. I recommend it. Go for the lowest price seller you can find.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy, August 30, 2009

This review is from: Dual Freestanding Monitor Stand holds monitors up to 22" widescreen. Uses standard Vesa mount. Clamps to Desk. (Office Product)
Pros:
Solid construction
Each articulation joint has a "tighten-able" bolt
Desk clamp will accommodate varying desk thicknesses
Cheap - Great value for the cost

Cons:
The wire management clips on the arms are a little weak
Monitors are not individually height adjustable relative to each other

Other Thoughts:
I'm currently using this stand with a 28" LCD and a 24" LCD, both wide screen. With two 28" wide screen LCD's (which I plan to do), the monitors will just fit with both in landscape orientation. Make sure to watch the weights of your monitors though. An over weight monitor (my 28" is only 16.3 lbs and does fine) will cause the tilt joint to give out and your monitor will be facing downwards. This joint is also "tighten-able" with the included hex wrench, so its a manageable issue.

This review is from: Dual Freestanding Monitor Stand holds monitors up to 22" widescreen. Uses standard Vesa mount. Clamps to Desk. (Office Product)
This is an impressively well-valued monitor stand. For ~$50, you get a very sturdy stand that will mount on a desk anywhere from close to 6" inches thick to the desk pictured, which is less than 1/2" thick. The stand offers significant adjustment:

1) Vertical - monitors can go as high or as low as the entire length of the pole
2) Rotation - the entire assembly can be easily rotated on the central pole
3) Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist - both monitors can swing on three independent hinges on the horizontal axis, accommodating a wide range of monitor sizes and positions.
4) Individual monitor rotation and tilt - allowing for monitor orientation and viewing.

The build quality of this mount impressed me, especially given the price. The materials are solid, well coated, and all of the sharp bits are covered or properly smoothed. The hinges feel stiff but pliable and don't give any hints of premature failure. The manual says no more than 16lbs per monitor, but this feels like it could handle twice that.

The mount is shipped with minimal installation required - simply screw two screws for the clamp and then clamp to the desk using two (already attached) eye-hook long bolts. Slide the mount over the pole and use the supplied allen wrench. Oh, and that wrench is no Ikea number - this thing is hefty and has a rubber coated handle. Impressive.

The monitors mount using standard VESA mount and have provisions for two different mount sizes. The kit includes 8 screws, although my Dell monitors had the four screws already. You will need a Philips head (or similar) screw driver.

I strongly recommend this monitor if you have a pair of LCD monitors and can clamp it to the back of your desk. Reclaim the desktop space and get some better vertical adjustment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent mount, excellent value, March 1, 2011

This review is from: Dual Freestanding Monitor Stand holds monitors up to 22" widescreen. Uses standard Vesa mount. Clamps to Desk. (Office Product)
This is a great dual LCD mount! I spent a full day (it seemed) scouring the web for the right dual mounting solution, and found plenty of options at a variety of prices. After reading some good reviews of this one I gave it a try and couldn't be happier. I spent less than $75 with shipping and everything, while several options out there don't seem to offer any additional features yet cost 2x or 3x as much. I was worried at first that I would be disappointed with the craftsmanship and quality of the product given the low price, but not at all - it's a very sturdy, very easy to install mount with a simple, clean design and convenient adjusting mechanisms. Unless you have a specialized/unique criteria for your mounting solution (e.g., maybe you need the ability to adjust each monitor's height independently, which isn't an option with this mount), then there's no reason to spend more elsewhere! 5 stars for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth twice what I paid., February 21, 2011

This review is from: Dual Freestanding Monitor Stand holds monitors up to 22" widescreen. Uses standard Vesa mount. Clamps to Desk. (Office Product)
When I purchased this item I had some fears about it. I imagine others are thinking the same as I was so I will describe some details about the item from a new owners point of view. When I opened the box I was amazed to find there to be only 3 parts. The main support bar, the clamp, and the arms (There are 2 arms but they are attached where they hook on to the support bar). One word, Solid. Seriously, the main bar is like a steel beam. The arms have so many joints I really thought the would be cheap and bend or wiggle, not a chance. Everything is solid and well made. Now this is after 3 hours use so who knows after 3 years but for right now I am so pleased.
The cord holders I admit are a little fragile feeling, but I reinforced them with black electrician's tape and also taped the cords down the main pole. The tape made me feel better and I think taping the cords down the bar makes it look so clean. Anyways, this is by far the best dual monitor screen for the money. To be honest I am blown away that this is only $42. If someone stole this from me and I would have to buy it again, I would pay at least $80-100 for it without blinking. Thanks for this I have so much more desk space. Two monitor stands was getting very cluttered, especially when I put one stand on books because it was too low.

TL:DR
Perfect product, solid as a rock, worth twice what you pay. A must have for anyone running dual monitors, Period.
