This CD has many songs that I am familiar with. I still love to listen to "Can You Feel The Beat" by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. It is such a great freestyle song! The only song that I was really disappointed with was "Like A Child" by Noel. It sounds so different from the way that I remember it. Anyway, the majority of the songs on the CD are great. I definitely recommend it to anyone that likes great dance music.

A few of the songs on here are versions that were only available on the 12" vinyl singles.

#5. Sweet Sensation - "(Goodbye Baby) Victim Of Love" is the Long Version from the 1987 12" on Next Plateau Records.
#8. Judy Torres - "Come Into My Arms" is the North Mix from the 12" single.

This CD offers a lot of songs that are hard to find from '86-'87. The only drawback is that they edited "Can You Feel the Beat" by Lisa Lisa & the Cult Jam. It's mid way through when they get into sampling Lisa Lisa's voice, it's cut short compared to the original album version. Other than this, "Freestyle:Greatest Beats" offers a lot of songs that are not available on other compilations. It's a very good tribute to the music that "throbbed" the night clubs in the '80s.

This disc is the second of a 10-disc series that is the definitive collection of Freestyle music. The series features a variety of songs from the most popular artists of the genre, including many hard-to-find classics. All discs include comprehensive liner notes charting the history of Freestyle music. A must-have collection for anyone interested in dance music from the mid-1980s through the early 1990s.

Disc Two Highlights: As with Disc One, every song is a classic. "Love Letter" by Giggles and "Because of You" by The Cover Girls are outstanding. Includes the hard-to-find classic "(You Are My) All and All" by Joyce Sims.

This volume also contains classics by TKA, Noel, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Judy Torres, C-Bank, and more.

I really enjoy the music on this album. My favourite songs are from Sweet Sensation, Safire & Joy Sims. The music is good too. Freestyle music is worth knowing more about so, visit the website on the title of this review for all you need to know about this style of music.

TKA, Lisa Lisa, The Cover Girls, Noel, etc.....You can't go wrong with this cd. Looking for classics which made freestyle music, then pick this one up.

I have heard many collections...but this one is the best. I own all ten. One thru seven on tape, which I just recently purchased on CD and eight thru ten. It's a must have!!
