A gold debut,
This review is from: Freetown (Audio CD)
Until today Sierra Leone's music has been an exception in West Africa for his absence. For this reason the young Seydu is an incredible surprise. His sound is terribly modern, his polyrithms are beautiful, his melodies are original and near to European and American sensibility. In this CD there is enough for listening and buying: tradition in rithms and in use of guitar (Momokatha, Um Walihe, Amel), african funky (Ju Ju man, Sugar Cane Love and others), ballads (Mamawata). Seydu sings in English, Spanish and traditional language. The booklet contains texts and explanations. A gold debut, an hopeness for the future of new Sierra Leone's music.
