Most people wont like or even understand these films, same as with Wangan Midnight or Initial D. Those who know what these films are about appreciate them for what they are; what street racing (and the whole concept of tuning) was like before it became a trend.

For those who don't know, Japan has highways that loop major cities. Most contain long straights which make them ideal for racing. People meet/hang out at the rest stops and then drive around in circles racing each other. This is very different from the US since most highways are not loops, not to mention the horrible conditions of most highways/freeways.

I find that this is a perfect match for the Tokyo extreme zero PS2 game...the roads are all the same and the chaqllenges are too. If your into speed like i Fast and the furious and even its sequel...
