5.0 out of 5 stars Only way I can get my toddler to eat fruit!
This is the best product ever, my son doesn't eat fruit, but he will he these apples. Much cheaper than the Gerber dried fruit and it even comes by the case!!! My playgroup mom loves them too and all buy the apples as well as the strawberries, peaches and blueberries. My son loves the strawberries too! Great company and Great price! Enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars These granny smith apples?
My can was a little more tart than sweet. Theyre still good. One 1/4 scoop or less of these add enough flavor to oatmeal to enjoy.

I never thought I would use freeze-dried apples until someone gave me a can as a gift. In baking pies, cookies and applesauce, these apples are better than the real thing! So much less prep time, it is unbelieveable. The Honeyville product taste very natural as well.

This product is much cheaper than what you buy in the stores and my 1 year old child loves them and can't tell the difference between these and gerber.

Great idea.

Freeze dried applee are fantastic for flavoring/sweetening cereals and oatmeal for breakfast. They work as a stand-alone snack. And in a pinch you can put them in a blender with ice and juice to make smoothies too.

There's some room for improvement on this specific product.

1> These aren't as sweet as some other apples I've tried (the smaller pouch/snack products).
2> It's a little pricey but it is a lot of product. Would be nice if there were more size options.
3> These have the skins still attached. I would definitely prefer them without skins. It's probably healthier this way though and you don't notice as much as you might expect.

I'm satisfied, but make them sweeter, remove the skins, and bring the price down a bit and you'll have a devoted fruit fanatic for life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes a nice apple pie, too!, March 20, 2009
This review is from: Freeze Dried Apple Chunks - 8 Ounce Can (Misc.)
Not only is this excellent to toss into your oatmeal, but you can use it as the feature in a homemade apple pie. I soaked these in cold water for 20 minutes or so, then followed my regular apple pie recipe. Cooks up well and tastes great! This is the real deal!
