Maybe the best compositions of the impressionist epoca.
It includes the best performances of Debussy pieces I've ever listened.

As a classical music fan for over 50 years, I know a great collection of music when I hear it. This album is one of the best I have EVER heard. Whether you are new to classical music or an old fart like me, I strongly encourage you to listen to this collection. Unlike the above review, I do not find it at all sleep-inducing, but rather so beautiful that one can only sit there in the darkness (the best way to listen to music) and be transfixed by its loveliness. The French are wonderful composers (although I didn't know that Ottorino Respighi was French!). Buy this album!

This French album is wonderful. The music is so beautiful. I have never heard my favorite, Reverie (by Debussy) played so beautifully and Clare de Lune was also great. I would definately recommend this album for anyone.

I have bought 3 of these items, the first was an audio tape from Avon. The 2 CDs I bought from Amazon were bought because I knew how beautiful the music was. One was a gift and the other is for my classroom. They were in perfect condition,the music is incredibly beautiful and I highly recommend it to everyone!

This is one of the best classical cd's for dinner music, relaxing,reading or even just putzing around the house. Elegant, pure classical and beautiful. Fills your home with a higher ambience if you are so mentally inclined. Everyone who hears it wants a copy. This the third one I have owned as I have worn out and given away one. I first purchased this in the early nineties and it still is timeless in it's symphonic artistry.

Debussy and Ravel already signify to most classical enthusiasts the best of french music. In this wonderful compilation, if you don't immediately fall asleep to the soothing sounds of Debussy's "Arabesque No. 1" you'll soon find yourself completely lost in the rest of the album, and stress-free for the rest of your day. Most highly recommended.

I didn't know what I was getting when I first purchased this work. Now, I can't imagine being without it. Debussey's Claire De Lune is the best I've heard. This is the same piece that was used on the movie "The Right Stuff". I believe you will enjoy this compilation.

The music on this album is so indescribably lovely! A superb addition to a classics CD collection!

This compilation of French Classical Music is so beautiful, it brings me to tears everytime I listen to it. I have owned it for years and I'm now looking for a duplicate replacement I have enjoyed it so much. I actually purchased it to use for my wedding to play during dinner. Later on I used it with my children to get them to unwind. My little one loves this CD and asks for it when she is ready for a nap. I've definately gotten my money's worth.

The title of this review is NOT a negative. I remember some of my most relaxed and enjoyable sleeps being on a cold winter day in a sunbeam in a small room with this cd playing. It took me forever to find it because I remembered it as "French Dinnertime Classics" but 15 years later I am it's proud owner. A side note, another great sleep method is to play Medwyn Goodall's "El Misti" (The Mist) over and over and over and over, you will have great dresms, or fall asleep to certain movies, like Jurassic Park or Empire of The Sun.
