This review is from: French Art Deco Fashions: In Pochoir Prints from the 1920s (Schiffer Design Books) (Hardcover)
I bought this book in the hope that it would have some good illustrations and information about Art Deco Pochoir fashion prints. However, the book seems to be an English translation of a period French fashion book illustrated with Deco fashion illustrations and period descriptions of what people should be wearing. If you want to get a "feel" for the fashion descriptions of the period then this book is for you. If you want to know more about the Pochoir printing process, the introduction has a very good description, but the contents of the book itself adds no new information. It's a pretty to look at book, but shows neither the best of the fashions of the period nor provides any real useful information for people interested in either costume or graphic arts. |
