I should have listened to the other reviews of this book. I really love French General and the cover art grabbed me. I think there are more pictures of food than actually of the projects that make me love French General. It could have been a win/win if they'd included recipes in addition to project directions. I'm going to keep this one, but that was after a long debate. It just doesn't rise up to the beautiful quality of French General, the pictures are very beautiful though.

I was very very disappointed in this book!! I was expecting more projects & fewer pictures of food. I liked the Home Sewn book much better.

I love this book. It has simple do it yourself decorating projects that range from beginner to advanced. I've done two of the beginner projects so far. They were easy. AFter a few more, I will work my way up to an intermediate project. I love the book mainly for its designs/style. If you love french inspired decor, then you'll like the book.

Although I really enjoyed two other French General books I was sorely disappointed in this one. Visually it is a beautiful book, but there are 88 (yes, 88) pages out of 166 that do not have any text on them. There are some projects included but mostly simple, silly ones. Embroidered jam jar covers? A beret for your soft-boiled egg? An apron made out of a dish towel? It is like looking through someone else's family album, which can be interesting but certainly not worth the $30 cover price. I feel gypped.

This is a beautiful book, I purchased it as a Christmas gift, and wished I could have kept it. The pictures are gorgeous, and the projects are outstanding ideas!!!

So not cool. its a book you would pick up in a bookstore. glance at it. think hmm kinda cute i guess? then put it down without a second thought. do not get this book
