My great aunt used to brew this in the percolator on the stove every morning, and she'd serve it with sugar and evaporated milk. we'd have grits, eggs, country sausage or bacon and maybe biscuits with cane syrup. Mmm Mmm good times.

This is an excellent coffee that is very similar to Cafe Du Monde but it is much more available. I can find this at my local grocery store whereas I have to order Cafe Du Monde through Amazon. (Which I do on occasion)

I find Cafe Du Monde just a tad bit smoother and a little "earthy", but that said this is still top notch, and has notes of caramel.

Remember as with all coffee with chicory to use less then you would normal coffee, perhaps half of what you normally would. Using less you will still get a dark coffee as it is almost impossible to get a light coffee with this. That being said, it still contains less caffeine as normal coffee and is certainly less bitter and taste less acidic.

Try this today if you are like me and love a good, bold, robust, great tasting coffee with chicory. You will not be disappointed.

I am passionate about good coffee, and I've traveled around the world and been fortunate to taste the coffees of many lands. There are great coffees in Italy, Kenya, Ethiopia, Colombia, and many other countries, but in the USA there is no finer coffee than French Market Coffee & Chicory. I've been drinking this for over 40 years and it is a staple in my home. It never disappoints, and I always get unsolicited rave reviews from guests about the coffee I brew.

There are a couple of things you should know. Even though this is a blend of coffee & chicory, it makes a robust pot of coffee. Pay attention to the advice that's printed on the lid of every can: "Use 1/3 to 1/2 as much coffee as you would normally use to brew a pot." My standard recipe these days is 2 level scoops per 8 cups of water for an automatic drip brewer, but if your coffee maker will take 10 or 12 cups of water, I'd still recommend using just 2 level scoops; then adjust to your own taste.

You get great value from a can of French Market coffee. The can is 16 oz., not 12 oz. like many other cans on your grocer's shelf. And by using only 2 level scoops per pot, that can will last for weeks.

The company that makes French Market coffee was acquired by another New Orleans-based company, but I trust that they will respect the heritage and tradition of this great New Orleans brand. Try French Market coffee and see if you agree with me that it's simply the best.

Our favorite brand of coffee at the best price available. Have been buying this for years. If you like a good strong cup of coffee...try it. It also is economical as you will need less to brew a good cup.

We love French Market Coffee and are thrilled we can order it from Amazon. During the years we lived in New Orleans we got hooked on this coffee after having it at Galatoire's and Commander's Palace, two of our favorite five star restaurants in New Orleans. It is the only coffee these two fine restaurants will serve. We couldn't believe our luck that it was also available in New Orleans' grocery stores. But now that we no longer live in New Orleans we have more trouble finding it. Thank goodness for Amazon! This coffee is in a league of it's own. Rich, flavorful, full bodied and smooth like the finest European coffees. Once you taste it, regular American coffee tastes like bitter, colored water. I can't imagine a morning without my French Market coffee!

Been using this coffee for over 25 years. Add a little cinnamon with your grounds and its the best. This coffee has a full, rich taste unlike any other I've tried.

I have been drinking this coffee since I attended LSU. It took a while for me to get used to the dark roast and chicory flavor. For the PAST 50+ YEARS, however, no other coffee has met FOR ME the deep flavor which this French Market coffee provides--and you still get a FULL POUND in each can.

This coffee has so much flavor and depth, we love it and can't drink anything else!

French Market Coffee is an excellent product, although not available in stores where I live. I was able to purchase it on Amazon.com recently. It arrived in just a few days (within a week) and I ahve been enjoying it ever since, as well as sharing it with my friends.

It's dark, rich and smooth. We love it! It's strong and delicious!

I've been buying it locally for years but it's getting harder and harder to find. Good to know I can still get it right here.
