Format:Perfect Paperback

I read Catlin's first novel "Bird Man" and was looking forward to the sequel, "French Pond Road" and it was definitely worth the wait! The characters are interesting and complex and the many strands of storyline kept my interest from beginning to end. In fact, I didn't want to put the book down!

I loved this book. The characters are vivid--the kind that live with you when you put down the book. The writing is kind of gritty, like a Russel Bank's novel without the dead-end desperation. The father/son story is moving and believable--a retelling of the age old story. I wish the book had gone on longer. It's good storytelling with many poetic moments.
