Buyer beware,
This review is from: The French Revolution as Blasphemy: Johan Zoffany's Paintings of the Massacre at Paris, August 10, 1792 (California Studies in the History of Art Discovery Series) (Hardcover)
Zoffany is a fun painter and this book is a great choice of subject. However I am wary of buying because according to the publisher, there are only 2 colour plates (plus 100 black-and-white illustrations). Pretty poor for a 1999 publication and damned shoddy for a university press. For more of my reviews see [...]
