French on the Road Level 2 is perfect for those who have mastered the basics of French and are ready to move on to better comprehension and increased language skills. There's an English speaking narrator who provides context but most of the tape is in French. There's also a little quiz at the end of each unit, where you're given a situation and are asked to respond in French. I found that very useful. The last unit is almost all French and after listening several times, you really get the feel for the language. The subjects are interesting...good for travelers. There's even a little romance thrown in. I found the tape very easy to listen to in my car. Of course, there's a book that comes along with the tape so you can check on words you may have missed. I definitely recommend French on the Road, Level 2. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish there had been an explanation in the book of some of the grammatical principles illustrated in the dialogues.
