5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for experienced French Defenders, April 18, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The French Tarrasch (Batsford Chess Opening Guides) (Paperback)
This book has all the nuts and bolts to the French Tarrasch. It is, however, a book I wouldn't recommend to a newbie at the French Defense, as it does get a little complex at times. I would recommend reading "Winning with the French" to get an overview of the French Defense, and then read books like this one to dive more into the theory of specific lines (in this case, the Tarrasch). This book can also be of use to those that play the Tarrasch as white and would cover a lot more of what they need than some French book that is 200 pages with only say, 34 pages on the Tarrasch and 5 annotated games.
