Good design, lots of staged reality TV drama, and some voyeuristic peeking into the lifestyles of the rich and kind of famous.

My husband has an interior design related business, and out of all the design shows on TV, this is the only one he is willing to watch with me at all. These people do quality work. Love them, hate them or think they are silly, their work is really good.
Watched all last season and I quickly caught up with Amazon when this season came out. Prefer the convenience of watching on my Kindle Fire.
Good design, lots of staged reality TV drama, and some voyeuristic peeking into the lifestyles of the rich and kind of famous. A perfect recipe.
My loyalties have shifted this season. Mary McDonald has replaced Martyn Lawrence Bullard as my favorite, she is definitely more approachable than last season, in both her design and reality TV schtick. But what's up with dropping Nathan Turner? Bring him back as more than a houseguest !!!!! His work is great!

There is something about this show that is fun. Maybe it is seeing how much rich people spend to furnish their house, I'm not sure. This show is engaging in a way that Antiques Roadshow is -- you just cant believe that the little wooden rocker is worth $20,000!

If you have enjoyed seeing the rooms of top designers Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, Kathryn Ireland, Jeffrey Alan Marks and Mary McDonald in magazines and books, then you should really love seeing them at work and at home in this series. The designers each have distinct styles and personalities which are on display here. It is intriguing to see how they interact with clients, their staff and artisans working on their projects. And it's fun to see how they relax at home.

The rooms they design are stunning, so it's instructive and fun to see how they start from zero and go to amazing. Season 2 is as good as Season 1, if not better. Love watching them travel and shop for clients or for One Kings Lane. It is fascinating seeing their design sensibilities at work.

I particularly enjoy having them explain their thought processes as they design and put a room together. Would love more on that if we have to sacrifice some of the drama at their homes with kids, staff etc. Although a bit of that is fun, too.

Although they work with high-end budgets with $50,000 tables and $24,000 rugs - which may be over your budget - it's great to train your eye with the good stuff as you know you can create something less expensive but attractive if your budget doesn't equal Elton John's for example. I am pretty besotted with this series. It's just plain fun. If at times it seems like it's a bit of "egos gone wild" with some of their clients, I figure some of that is hamming it up for us. We are being entertained while educated. Decorating shouldn't be all serious. Hope they keep producing this show every year. With four designers and a mix of clients and tastes, and the creative design field itself, this series will never get dull.

So happy I found the new MDD season on here. Sassy, fabulous, or as Martyn would say: "This show is delicious!."

Everytime I watch these shows, I look around at my house and cry a little! I LOVE all their works. I especially love the pink walls that were done in Ambers V. bedroom. I want to do a wall in my livingroom with that wallpaper. I wish someone would do an old school Parisian bedroom. Or indo-chine, I love that look, too. Another object that I die for is that chandelier that was purchased for Martyn's house. OMG I was riding home on the bus from work the other night and thinking wondering why I don't have nice fixtures like that then I remembered that I can't afford it! LOL LOVE you Martyn!!
