5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable
They make you realize that the most beautiful musical instrument is the human voice. All but two of the cuts are completely a capello and each voice is unique. Clint Eastwood's wife Dina came across them in South Africa and was so blown away that the end result was that they did much of the sound track for Inviticus. These guys are going to be huge. We had the luck to...

2.0 out of 5 stars Only one good song on it
I purcased this CD based on seeing the band on Craig Ferguson on Late Night TV, they played the song that is so beautiful and gives the real South African sound, but when I got the CD, thinking the other songs would be equally as good, I was in for a big disappointment, they are trying to sound like an American Rock band, and they fall way short on both counts. I had...

We had the luck to hear them at a private party. Not only was their sound absolutely unique, but all seven were really great guys.

I had bought two , one for me and one to give away, I had to keep the one I opened, but returned the unopened one and am going to buy the soundtrack for Invictus, on which the group is also featured, but on that one they play more South african genre music. I am most disappointed in Overtone's Frequency album.

This is a very interesting CD I was very surprised at the variety of musical selections.
I have always enjoyed harmony and this has plenty. I was very pleased and certianly would purchase other CD's from this group.
Also I was interested in the different languages that were used.

I also was introduced to this group on Craig Ferguson. Immediately Googled them, sampled this CD and bought it. I've listened to it several times and there is not one track on the CD that I dislike - which has happened maybe three times in my entire life. I absolutely love the variety. I rarely enjoy listening to a single artist for more than 2-3 songs because I tend to get bored easily. That's not necessary with Overtone. Being a saxophonist, I can't agree with the reviewer who says the human voice is the most beautiful instrument. But it is certainly an amazing one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Sound!, January 3, 2010
This review is from: Frequency (Audio CD)
I absolutely enjoy this entire CD. These guys are unique and sound fantastic! I have played this for many of my friends and they all love it. The variety keeps it interesting, I can't wait to see what else they come up with. I also bought the Invictus soundtrack and it is equally beautiful. Most of that music was of South African genre, but there is a beautiful song on it called Colorblind that I absolutely love, it has a sound a little bit like Train. Definitely will buy whatever these guys do next.Invictus: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
