Works well- though it will not catch the finest of grounds. Appears to be sturdy and well made. Good value for the price.

Works very well and is so much cleaner (and less wasteful) than paper. It's easy to grab the handle and shake the grounds into the trash, rinse the grounds stuck to the sides, and plop it in the dishwasher. Yes. The dishwasher. I love dishwasher safe stuff. We've been using it for over 3 months now, nearly every day. It looks like new. For some reason, if we forget to empty it, the grounds don't grow interesting flora as fast as they do in the paper. When they do, I can just rinse it and sanitize in the dishwasher.

I use this inside one of these GSI Outdoors 79480 Collapsible Java Drip Coffee Maker to pour coffee that was brewed in a porcelain pot (coffee grinds loose in the 200 degree water) into a thermos to catch the grinds but allowing the coffee oils to flow thru. Sometimes I also add a #4 paper filter between the two if I do not want any particulate matter whatsoever in the coffee. This keeps the paper filter from getting clogged up so quickly.
Without the paper filter, I was impress how little particulate matter there was at the bottom of the pot. The mesh also seems much stronger than my last "gold" metal filter and much easier to clean. I am liking it very much.
