Most Helpful Customer Reviews

11 of 12 people found the following review helpful By Tai I. Rivera on February 23, 2011
Format: Hardcover
This superbly photographed volume celebrates frescoes, among the vast achievements of Italian art and culture, providing an expertly guided tour of the beautiful residences in which they appear. Frescoes of the Veneto explores the changing nature of the tradition over the course of three centuries and features work by major artists such as Andrea Urbani and Giambattista Tiepolo, and lesser-known painters such as Giovanni Antonio Fasolo, Luca Ferrari da Reggio, and Jacopo Guarana. This volume will be irresistible to lovers of Italian art and architecture and aficionados of the Veneto alike. This is by far one of my favorite books! Before I purchased it, I "browsed" through the pages at The National Gallery of Art bookstore.
