What is living life to you? Is it going to work, home and church and than starting all over? Does life seem like an endless list of things you need to get done? If this is your thinking, let this book allow you to daydream. "Fresh Brewed Life" wakes you up to all that you have been missing out on. Nicole's desire is for you to see the "whole bean" essence of who you are. There is more to life than laundry. You were created to give God glory, not to give dishes that special shine. This book will challenge you to live for the here and now. It deals with real life issues that are facing many women today. She candidly talks about longings (and what we are supposed to do with them), anger, relationships and sexuality. (If you are single, please don't skip this chapter). Nicole Johnson has been in ministry as an actress, speaker and now author with her husband, Paul for almost 10 years. Her humor lightens up heavy subject matter and her God given wisdom will leave you thinking long after the book is done. Nicole so bravely shares her own struggle with beauty, sex, and how to be worthy of the call God has placed on her life. I read this at age 21. I am so glad that I did. I found this book to be very emotional. I went through a lot of issues that I really did not want to deal with. God will show Himself in such a mighty way. The issues seemed to be popping up every where. God used this book to heal a lot of past hurts and give me a hope that does not disappoint. Nicole will tell you to get a journal...so let me beat her to it..."GET A JOURNAL!" Keep your Bible near by. You are in for the ride of your life. Take your time and embarrass all that God wants you to enjoy. Sit back with your favorite cup of coffee (or whatever) and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you though this mighty woman of God. She shows that God will use all of our mistakes for His glory.

as a college student, i have developed a coffee-fetish and"fresh-brewed life" caught my eye at the bookstore immediately. i am a journaler, but this book made me soo excited to write in my journal reminding me that i "must make a life WORTH recording." ms. johnson's words have encouraged me to seek the Lord's love with passion and to allow myself to be satisfied with His invigorating love rather than finding my contentment and satisfaction in consuming things. i loved the directed journaling and the inspiring quotes. i was sad when i finished the book but i'm excited to reread it and the notes i took while reading. i have felt so renewed. :)

Reading this book was such a turning point in my life. I have been a devoted follower of Christ for many years, and have read many books by Christian authors, but Nicole puts living the life of a believer in a whole new light. The way that she sees things and communicates them to her readers is so fresh, and uplifting. This book was a great blessing. It has helped me to walk in beauty, inside and out. It helped me past a lot of hang-ups that I didn't even know I had.

I haven't finished this book yet as I am savoring each page as I would an outstanding cup of coffee. She is reaching me in my parched dry areas and leading me to the living water in Jesus Christ. As a busy mom of a 3yr old I needed this book to jump start my spiritual life. My pastor graciously consented to have our womens pastor give us this book! Thank you pastor!

As one of the immensely popular "Women of Faith" conference speakers, actress/author Johnson doesn't need my plug--but she gets it! Her writing is vunerable, deep, and funny. I especially liked her musings about savoring our sexuality (a topic often overlooked or avoided by the Church) and embracing our beauty. Each chapter also includes fun coffee trivia. (Side note: I led a Bible study on this book at my church, and it was a big hit with the younger women. We all loved her video presentations that were included with the study guide and students' books. They made us think, laugh, and cry, within the space of five minutes! Her "mom" segment is priceles--I can't believe she doesn't have kids of her own!) Be sure and have a journal and highlighter nearby when you read Fresh-Brewed Life, because you'll want to remember a lot of what this author says. The book is comforting and stimulating at the same time--just like a good cup of joe. :)

Sometimes God brings things into our life that at first we don't think about too much or perhaps even give much thought to at all really. Sometimes the very thing that happens is not why we began a journey at all, but He intended for us to see the bigger picture He sees and surprises us by putting a seemingly 'small' moment into our path to lead us to the greater moment of Him.

I met Nicole Johnson a few years ago and only bought her book to be able to stand in line to speak with her, little did I know that that would be the 'small' moment that led to the HUGE moment of pure growth in my life and sweet realization that I was made for more.

My friend, if you are thinking about or looking for something different to read, something to help you find answers, you can start here with this amazing book and I can promise with complete confidence that you will not be disappointed even for a second. So go ahead and order the 'cup' that will change your life as you turn the pages! Praise Him so, for He is amazing. And thanks Nicole, I am forever changed b/c you were willing to lay it on the line and trust Him as He told you what to write.

I was impressed by Nicole Johnson's terrific sense of humor at the Women of Faith Conference last year and wanted to get a better idea of her perspective of life, so I bought this book and a journal. The only thing that disappointed me about the book was that I let in sit on the shelf too long before I made the time to read it! After that, I read it from cover to cover. I am now buying several more to give to friends as gifts with a big coffee mug and a bag of Starbucks coffee beans -- enjoy a fresh brewed life and read this one!

This book literally jumped off the shelf at me! I LOVE coffee, so I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but the whole coffee theme/book cover is what snagged me. The next thing I knew, I was at the checkout stand. That night I began reading this amazing little book and the next day, returned to purchase an armload of more copies to send my best friends. My copy now has underlined passages and margin notes all over it! I can't even begin to describe how it has spoken to me and influenced me at this point in my life. These are messages I needed to hear. Nicole sure knows how to cut to the chase and speak right to the heart. It's been an extremely refreshing experience reading this book . . . which gives "wake up and smell the coffee" a whole new meaning!

I am reading this book a second time, this time with a group. It never fails to wake me up, help to look deeper at things I do and why I do them.

It saddens me to see the author attacked here as a hypocrite, b/c if we get honest how many of is aren't hypocrites? Can we all say we take our own advice 100% of the time? Ye who are without sin, throw the first stone. Go and sin no more.

The author steps out of her comfort zone and gets gut-wrenchingly honest in this book. No, she isn't perfect. I don't recall her claiming to be. Read this book if you are a real woman with real sin and real redemption. You'll find it's real good.

I purchased this book at a Women of Faith conference after hearing Nicole speak, I even got her autograph on the book. And the book was not disappointing, it is an upbeat, fun book on refreshing our daily life. How many times in our life do we feel uplifted? Nicole's book clearly illustrates how we need to pick ourselves up and smile more, enjoy our friends more, enjoy being a Christian more. Life should not always seem burdened, Jesus took those burdens for us to the cross. Our weight should be light, so start living a "Fresh-Brewed Life"!
