You can't buy a Ferrari for the price of a Ford although it could be argued that both products are reasonably priced for what they have to offer. My
first cigarette machine was a gambler hand loader with a cost of about $6.99. It was made in China out of cheep plastic and was worth the price as long as you didn't mind spending a good portion of your evening making cigarettes for the next day. Since I now make cigarettes for both my wife and I this just wasn't going to work so I bought a top-o-matic hand crank cigarette machine at a cost of about $35.99. It is also made in China but its a fairly good build and it's made out of metal I like this machine very much and still do. Like my F-150 It is worth every penny that I payed for it. After hours and hours of Internet searches trying to find both cheaper and faster ways to make cigarettes I found fresh choice "Tobacco Leaves" simply the best tasting tobacco I have ever tasted. You do have to shred the tobacco first but, I have found a way to do this quickly and easily. At $100 for 5lb it still seemed more expensive than the pipe tobacco I had been using however for $100 you get free shipping, 5lbs of tobacco and 12 cartons of tubes! So if you conservatively value each carton of tubes at $2.50 each (Zig-Zag's go for about $4.00 pr carton) my tobacco is only costing me $14 pr lb shipped. For GREAT tasting tobacco that's CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!!! I originally thought $449 was to much for any cigarette machine but, because of my enthusiasm for their tobacco I took another look at their electric cigarette machine and after many more Internet searches I purchased it and some more tobacco on a truly easy payment plan. INTEREST FREE!! The fresh choice electric cigarette machine simply cannot be compared to any other cigarette machine I'm familiar with and trying to compare it to my top-o-matic would be like trying to compare a Ferrari to a Ford. You can't compare the microprocessor that monitors the compaction level and quality of the tobacco because that's leaps and bounds above Top or any other cigarette machine I know of. You can't compare the quality of build. Its made in the USA not China and according to the card that came with my machine it was assembled by some guy named Jeff. How refreshing just imagine made in America by an American. I apologize if that last statement came off sounding racist its not meant to be, its just that I'm old enough to remember the days when MADE IN THE U.S.A. really meant something and this product just exudes those nostalgic visions of American made quality! The plastic case is made of a high quality polymer and the inner workings are metal like that found on high end tools like Dewalt or Milwaukee. The machine is spoon fed not auger so the problems people have with auger machines (lit heads falling off cigarettes) is not an issue here. A compaction adjustment knob (that actually works) makes for easy adjustments to how tight you want your cigarette packed. There is a lifetime warranty as long as you buy tobacco from them. The machine performs consistently well with speed and ease. This is the last Cigarette Machine I will ever have to buy! The price $449 is not cheap but neither is the product. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for! The cost of Manufactured cigarettes for my wife and I used to be about 6,000 dollars pr yr. Now for the first year our cost will be about 2,000 But we only have to purchase the machine once so it will be even cheaper in future years. Beware of reviewers with some kind of axe to grind. This machine is top quality. Customer support is excellent. My phone calls Have been answered right away and if they need to call you back in 5 min they really do mean 5 min not next week. If you buy a used machine from someone, don't buy fresh choice tobacco and then expect a full lifetime warranty you might not be happy. Otherwise I highly recommend this product!

I, too, am giving this product a 1 star only because I cannot give it a minus star.
We bought this cigarette rolling machine directly from the Fresh Choice people. We bought the rolling machine, the shredder, tobacco, and tubes. The tobacco shredder is really a cross cut paper shredder with a bin attached to the top (where you add the tobacco "leaves"). If you were smoking paper it might work, but it does not shred the tobacco, it chops it into square shaped pieces that do not roll very well. A very disappointing product. The tobacco is advertised to be 100% tobacco leaf strips. I found chunks of what looked like bark and large stem pieces mixed in with the tobacco strips. Very disapointing product. There was trouble with the rolling machine from the first. The compression could not be loosened enough to produce a "smoke-able" cigarette. The tech people at frsh choice said we could send back the machine to them or go get a specific type of screw driver, carried at Ace, to remove the back of the machine and make a change to the compression knob within the machine. Got the tool. About four of the eight screws were able to be removed with the tool. The others would not come loose, needed an impact wrench with a very long quarter inch square bit. Didn't have one and did not want to be out the expense for whatever tools were really needed to just take the back off the rolling machine. Called Fresh Choice about returning everything back to them - they had a 100% return policy. They said to pack up every thing and send back via UPS. Packaged up everything and UPSed three boxes to Fresh Choice. About two weeks later we received a credit, but it was $108.25 less than what they were paid. Called them up to question the shortage - had to wait for someone to look into it and get back to us. Waited about three weeks and called them again. This time Mario said the tobacco costs $100.00, and even though we sent it back, they charged us the full price plus tax for the bag of tobacco. They said to send it all back for a full refund, yet we are still out $108.25.

I purchased one of these because I'm tired of "Fire Safe Cigarettes" (What's next, Fireproof Gasoline?). Just loved having to relight my cigarette 6 times......
Anyway...... I purchased the machine because I need speed and consistency when making my non "fireproof" cigarettes. I figured with a 15 day return policy if I didn't like it, I couldn't lose! After owning it for over 8 weeks there's NO WAY I would ever want to return this machine! I use their tobacco which is a very pleasant blend (I'm hooked on the menthol) and find it works perfectly with the machine. The machine (and any RYO machine) is somewhat picky when it comes to moisture content of the tobacco. Too wet and the tobacco will stick to the spoon (loading device) and produce a partial fill. Too dry and it may pack too tight or the tobacco falls out of the cigarette. Tobacco cut can also effect the outcome. Their tobacco has a very good cut and the moisture content is perfect so I would recommend using their tobacco to avoid problems. I've made over 2800 cigarettes (yes, the machine keeps track) for myself, wife and friends and it works great. I can easily make a pack of cigarette in under two minutes. I get a rejection rate of about 2 percent. This means that the cigarette isn't quite filled the way I like. Either packed too tight or too loose. Easy to fix as I dump the tobacco out of the bad cigarette and just refill it. Two bad "loads" out of a hundred ain't bad! Rolling your own is an "art" which takes a little patience to get the hang of it. This machine makes it almost too easy with a little practice. Fresh Choice service it outstanding! Sally is nothing but knowledgeable, helpful and easy to deal with. Machine and tobacco orders go out the door right away! If you use their tobacco the machine has a lifetime warranty, although I'm not sure if I'll ever need it as the machine is built like a tank! As a bonus to my not wanting to smoke "firesafe" cigarettes, I pay about 10 bucks a carton now for cigarettes instead of 50 and they taste a heck of a lot better! The 14 cartons I've already made has easily paid for the machine. Another bonus is I'm feeling a lot better not smoking all the extra crap loaded into the "firesafe" cigarettes. Yes, I'm a real customer. No, I don't work for the company. I just love this machine! Mike
