5.0 out of 5 stars Pastor Cymbala does it again!
The pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle has done it again! His new book, "Fresh Faith" really does help one to yearn for that freshness of spiritual faith. Pastor Cymbala, not only shares some of the things that are happening in his congregation (and those stories ALONE are breathtaking), but also helps us to understand some of the great biblical stories from...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a Strong "Follow-up" Book
I read Fresh Wind Fresh Fire and could not put it down. It changed my life. However, I was very disappointed in Fresh Faith. I struggled to get through it. There is one section of the book that deals with Jeroboam that is outstanding - illustrating that we must trust God's plan and not our own thoughts. Most of the other stories and scripture references do not seem to...

Pastor Cymbala, not only shares some of the things that are happening in his congregation (and those stories ALONE are breathtaking), but also helps us to understand some of the great biblical stories from the aspect of faith and God's faithfulness.

Don't be mistaken: This is NOT a "Word of Faith" book, and the author quite clearly states that fact. But, if read carefully, it will help the seeking believer to trust God's Word and to have faith inspired in their soul. All the stories and scriptures are inspiring. What is even more inspiring is a TRIP up to the BIG APPLE and a worship experience with this congregation. The only thing better than the book is THE TRIP.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Fresh Faith" helped refresh my faith in God!, August 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Fresh Faith (Audio Cassette)
If the day-to-day problems of life have robbed you, this is the book for you! In his follow-up book to "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire," Jim Cymbala exposes the schemes the Enemy uses to rob God's children of their past, present, and future joys and blessings. "Fresh faith," or a renewed trusting in God, is rightly high-lighted, even during difficulties.

However, this book does not take problems lightly. It sees them for what they are; yet, it sees God as being greater. He can and should be trusted, especially when things are tough.

If your faith seems dry and stale at times, try "Fresh Faith."

4.0 out of 5 stars Inspiration for new believers, January 5, 2000
This book was a great inspiration to me and my family. It gives many great examples of how god's grace grabs normal people like you and me and won't let go. Mr. Cymbalia puts things in terms to where you don't have to be a college scholar to understand things such as, the power and importance of prayer. My husband and I are new believers in Christ and this book has truly inspired us to continue our search for Jesus Christ.

5.0 out of 5 stars God Answers Prayer!, April 4, 2001
By A Customer
This book is beyond a doubt the most uplifting, spiritually challenging, Biblically based book on the power of Faith I have read in a very long time. I couldn't put it down. This is for new, as well as seasoned Christians. I loved the chapters that discussed the facts that "ALL things work together for good to those who love God." -- Not some things, not just good things, not just for people who've had spotless pasts, but ALL things to ALL those who love God - even for us broken, hopeless sinners who love God. The book discussed how God uses those who have hopelessly ruined their lives. As a matter of fact, He PREFERS to use those who have hopelessly ruined their lives. It also talks about how Satan has robbed all of us of so many things in our lives. It talks of how to get past your Past, how to forgive, and how GOD is able to help people forgive and be healed. WE can't do it ourselves. Only GOD can do it. This book is a powerful inspiration to me and a reminder of the glories God has waiting for us if we will only believe and have faith. God's power is limitless, but He tells us that we can only receive His power if we claim it and believe it through faith. "ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH be it unto you." Awesome book!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh Faith Can Help Freshen Your Faith!, October 8, 2003
Personally, I thought Cymbala's book was an excellent and timely read, especially during a time of spritual dryness that Christians occasionally encounter.

Some of the interesting points Cymbala covers include:

1. God can free us from the bondage of the past.
2. God is impressed with the heart, not with outward appearances.
3. We sometimes need to say no to good activities so we can follow God.
4. Many of our struggles have to do with God's timing.
5. Let God do things Himself and do not give in to unbelief and impatience.
6. Some people are not good for us to be around - ask God for wisdom in avoiding those people and ask for people who would be good for you.
7. Approach God boldly to cleanse you.
8. When we stop living by faith, we get into trouble.
9. We must allow God to refine us in His likeness.
10. We will not be ashamed when we trust God.

Read and be encouraged to have your faith in Christ be renewed and made stronger in Him!

5.0 out of 5 stars Old, old story...fresh, fresh faith, February 9, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Fresh Faith (Audio Cassette)
Pastor Cymbala lets God speak for himself in this book. God's old, old story of salvation which touches different people in different ways will touch you, too. Nobody can come away from this book without feeling revived, rebuked or wanting to know more of God's amazing salvation. PLEASE READ IT! Read it as a church, read it alone, buy it for others!

If you read fresh wind, fresh fire, YOU must read this book! This book I feel is Jim Cymbala's best yet. Do you feel like your prayers are going nowhere? Do you honestly know what faith is?... This book showed me how to pick up the pieces and how to really pray. Do you honestly know where faith comes from?? If you read one book this year, do yourself a favor and read this one! You will not be sorry.

the degree to which this work impacted me is inexpressable -- it is doctrinally sound, intellectually balanced, unquestionably Spirit-inspired, motivating and encouraging -- i have worn out two sets by repeated listening and given several copies away -- this is worth listening to!!!

This book is a must read for every Christian. This book explains profound truths in a simple, easy to understand way. It is written in a very conversational manner and is full of encouraging examples.

This book has increased my faith and I was very convicted many times as I read. This book gives the reader a clear understanding of truly biblical faith. Anyone who reads this book will be challenged, whether a new Christian or not.

God used this book to speak to me in a powerful way.
