The sides to bulge a bit while baking causing the loaf to not be the perfect long rectangular shape but does that really matter?

I am a handcrafted soapmaker and I purchased two of these molds. Each holds about 3 lbs of soap. The price is amazingly low and the ease in unmolding my soap makes these loaf pans one of the best purchases I have made. I highly recommend this product.

Ok I realize that the pan is intended for making bread or cake but I wanted it to make soap. Overall the quality of the product is very good. Its easy to use and easy to clean. The only kinda bad thing I have to say is that for making soap the top of the mold is wider than the bottom and it makes for a strange shape in the final product. I know its not fair to say because the making did not intend it for soap making. I just wanted to let other soap makers know that you wont get a perfectly rectangle shape for the soap. Other than that one issue, it works great.

Like others, I bought this to use as a soap mold. And it works great! My soap is releasing in half the time of other molds, and the interior surface produces a beautiful glossy finish.

I'm filling up about 1/3 of the way, adding embeds, and then cutting them into horizontal bars that are about 1.25" thick. That takes 1 lb of clear soap + embeds. (I'm attaching pictures to the product page).

I'm very happy with this one, and have already ordered other sizes!

I purchased this as a soap mold and the results are great! I will be purchasing two more. Yes, the sides are a little floppy once filled with the soap mixture, but it bows out and gives a nice shape to the soap. Or, I've also used things to prop the sides (can of cooking grease, etc.)and make them straight. Either way, nice loaf of soap.

It's the best invention, non-stick, no heat transfer. I hope they don't find that there is some cancerous agent in it ten years down the road (like they seem to find with everything else these days)!

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
We have one recipe of a very dense rye bread that we make quite often. Previously we had used the typical thick metal loaf pans. The first difference we noticed with this silicone pan was that it doesn't hold it's shape well, so the sides of the loaf bulges out. That doesn't affect too much other than aesthetics, if you want a perfectly shaped loaf. Also note that the dimensions are quite different from a normal loaf pan--longer, narrower, and just a little shorter. A great advantage over the metal pans was that it doesn't burn the sides and heats the loaf much more evenly. Because of the change in how evenly the heat distributes, I think we'll also need to adjust the cooking length for our recipe, which I imagine would be true of other recipes as well. It's great how quickly it cools to the touch, and how easily it cleans up. The included instructions indicate how it should be treated on first use to prime the non-stick qualities. Overall, with a few adjustments to how we use this new bakeware, it's a great addition to the kitchen!
