If the bit is stuck in the casing, push it back and forth laterally until it is loose enough to slide out. If you twist it, twist in the direction of the blade, so that if you slip, you don't lose any fingers.
This bit makes quality dados and rabbets. The bit is sharp and seems to stay sharp through many cuts. Dado cuts are clean on the sides and in the bottom.
I do not have any complaint about this product.
Well after using this that all changed. It cuts smooth as butter and has a super crisp edge. I will be slowly replacing all my cheapo ones with Freud brand. Can't beat the Amazon price either!
First off, this bit is sharp, plenty of carbide for sharpening, and well balanced.
I used this bit with a trammel to flaten an end grain butcher block. I couldn't be more impressed with its performance on end grain. Minimal sanding was required and there wasn't any "burning" to speak of.
