Style Name: 3/4-Inch Top and Bottom Bearing Flush Trim Bit
Good quality bit that is sharp from the factory, cuts clean, and follows every last contour on the template. The dual bearings are nice in that the template can be at the top or bottom of the work piece without having to change/buy a new bit.

I already have a few Freud bottom bearing flush trim bits and they're great. I needed a top bearing bit and all I had was a "made in china" version. Halfway through the cut the bearing failed and ruined my $30 piece of wood and template. Bought this bit, a new piece of wood, made a new template, and the rest is history.

This is a very well-made router bit. I've used it for trimming and simple pattern work. The carbide edges were all sharp and properly dressed upon arrival (I've only ever gotten a couple Freud bits that weren't, honestly); the bearing has held out well and continues to have smooth low-friction turning.

This is one workhorse of a bit. Using my Milwaukee router, I've fed this bit everything from 1/2" MDF to 1-1/2" oak. No burn marks, no vibration, just smooth straight cuts everytime. Well worth the money.

This worked really well, but the set screw on the bearing collar was not completely tight, or it came loose. In either case, I gouged my work because the bearing moved. No serious damage, but really scarred me, since my very light cut against the template that I was using became a rather deep and heavy cut. Things began to move fast.

Morale of the story. Check the set-screw tightness, and even put some lock-tite on it to be sure. Do not know why Freud did not do this in the first place!!!!

We run a countertop fabrication shop. We needed a bit that would stay sharp, be dependable and work with templating work. This bit is everything we needed and expected out of our bits. Clean cutting, no chatter marks, and the bearing has been running smooth despite heavy use. I would certainly buy this one again and in other sized. Freud has never let us down with any of their products.

I used this bit to cut my corian countertops. This thing got a ton of use and never got dull.
I probably made between 750 -1000 linear feet in cuts and the first cut was as good as the last. It also worked great for rounded and detail cuts. I never had a problem with chatter, which also had to do with having a good router to work with.

When i bought my first router, a Ridgid R2401 Laminate Trim Router, I figured I would try some of the less expensive router bits (Ryobi). This almost turned me off to routing, as there was a lot of tear out, etc, with those bits. What do you expect for a set that has 21 bits for $50?

I then bought a bigger router, a Hitachi KM12VC 11 Amp 2-1/4-Horsepower Plunge and Fixed Base Variable Speed Router Kit with 1/4-Inch and 1/2-Inch Collets , and bought a Freud bit in 1/2in shank, and gave it one last try. I was simply amazed at how much better of a cut I got with the Freud. So I ordered the other 4 1/2in bits from that site as they were on clearance for $10 each. I figured that I would also buy some Freud bits in 1/4in shank for my little trim router, as it is a joy to work with and way less heavy. You may have to make a couple of more passes, but it is a great little router.

I then looked into making patterns and templates, and figured I would buy this bit to test them on a pattern (push stick) that I had made. I used my scroll saw and got as close as I could with it, then used this bit to follow the pattern. The bearing being on the template and the bit finishing the job. It works just as good as the bigger shank bit. I mean, you don't even have to sand the edges, that's how well these work.

I would suggest to anyone to spend the few extra bucks and get the few bits that you will use all the time. Get a straight, flush trim, round over, pattern, and maybe a chamfer. You will not be disappointed and many patterns can be made using these few.
