If your doing some plywood joinery, these bits won't let you down. Incredibly smooth cuts with no tearout. These frued bits just "sing" through the material. Definitely worth the money.

We all know that a 2x4 isn't really 2" x 4", and plywood is the same way. These bits are undersized to compensate for the sanding process of plywood. These bits will provide a great fit without any slop.
Don't use this set for making Dado's for MDF because 3/4" MDF is really 3/4", 1/2" is really 1/2" and so on.
I hope this helps

Tired of your dados being too lose when using plywood? These bits assure tight fits for undersized plywood joints and always, the Freud products work great. You can't go wrong with these bits.

4.0 out of 5 stars False Advertising, May 24, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Freud 90-106 4-Piece Undersized Plywood Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
This "IS NOT" a 1/2" shank router bit set. Please correct the product description. It is a 1/4" shank set.

I purchased these by mistake. I wanted the 1/2" shank set instead. nonetheless, when they arrived I put them to work in my 1/4" router and they work a treat. They are designed for dados or grooves to accept plywood that may not exactly be the dimension it says it is.

This set is very good for its purpose: cutting various grooves, dados, etc for plywood. If you use alot of plywood, this set works great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bits Sized Just Right For Plywood ~ Packed in Annoying Box, December 27, 2010

This review is from: Freud 90-106 4-Piece Undersized Plywood Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have used these bits for making all kinds of furniture out of plywood where I cut slots half way through the thickness in the individual pieces of the assembly so everything locks together nice and tight with Gorilla Glue and Star drive screws.

The bits themselves are a nice high quality product that stay sharp and cut accurately and are perfectly sized to the standard thicknesses of plywood available in the U.S. ~ they will also work for 12mm and 18mm metric sized stock as well with just a little sanding of the edges of the plywood to thin them down ever so slightly, unfortunately, you have to purchase a separate 3/16 actual cut width bit to use 5mm three ply stock. That is not; however, why I am only giving them a four star review and not a five star.

These are only a four star instead of a five star in my mind because of the very annoying wooden box they come in. The box is too nice to just throw out. But it should indeed be thrown out because the flip up block does not flip straight up to allow easy removal of the bits and I have cut me finger more then once on the bits putting them in and out of the little holes they are suppose to go in. The box would be much better if it just had four divided compartments and you just dropped each bit loose into its cubby hole. I understand that they were probably trying to make a nice quality box to sell their bits in but they failed miserably because the box is not designed with function in mind and is more annoying in actual use then anything else.

Unfortunately I havent used them as I meant to buy the 1/2" shank bits and not 1/4". Need to return for the correct ones and then I'll post a review.
