Dream blade,

This review is from: Freud D0760X Diablo Ultra Finish Saw Blade ATB 7-1/4-Inch by 60t 5/8-Inch Arbor (Tools & Home Improvement)
I tried ripping some 3/4" poplar with the (slightly cheaper) Skill version of this same blade style and found it a beast to work with. It kept burning and splintering the wood so badly none of it was usable, so I ended up switching to a cheap hollow ground plywood blade which was slow, ran out of square, and prone to binding.
Then I picked up one of these and couldn't believe the difference a few dollars made. Nice, clean, square cuts and the only scorch marks were the ones I made when my power cord snagged and I couldn't push forward. Freud's made a fan of me.

This blade cuts like a hot knife through butter on my Skilsaw. Like another reviewer, I had purchased cheap plywood blades at Home Depot. I had all sorts of trouble with those blades - couldn't cut very fast (due to a ridiculously high tooth count), burnt the wood, and had binding and kickback. My stock 24T blade didn't give a nice enough cut for plywood or MDF. Enter this blade. It cuts FAST and straight with hardly any tearout. Definitely worth the $20 - it has made using my circ saw a pleasure again, and I no longer dread having to break down plywood.

An amazing difference over the cheaper blades. I can actually use this "finish" blade where I'd typically use a ripping blade. Finer edges, less dust, same cutting speed, it's awesome. I don't use my circular a lot, but I've probably made a hundred cuts with this blade and it's in great shape.

This blade worked great in slicing a large panel of 1/4 inch thick Plexiglass into smaller pieces to replace the glass in several storm doors. It produced a very smooth, no chipping edge. Also worked well on ripping some MDF being ripped to size. I would recommend this blade.

I've been in the process of renovating a foreclosure house I purchased and needed some new blades for my saws. I picked up this blade and have been blown away by the performance. They last a lot longer than many other blades you'll find and the cuts are smooth and even. Highly recommended.

I bought the Freud D0760X Diablo for all the pieces that I cut and what a great piece of equipment. Quality and precision is a must for me, this was one of my best purchases I have made. Cuts are smooth and precise. Clean cuts top and bottom of material. Push the button and don't push, let the blade do the work.
First time using this company, this is a keeper! No cons so far! ^_^

Freud 60T ripped effortlessly through premium-faced plywood, leaving sandpaper-smooth edge, virtually no tear on either surface. Relatively quiet. Reasonable price for premium cut. Some effort to carefully pry-out the dual-fit center in order to fit Craftsman Pro hypoid circular saw. (Picture diamond hole, vice round hole). Obviously, one doesn't want to warp the blade while prying/twisting out the scored part. Apparently I was successful, as blade is straight and balanced, but it took me 15 minutes, carefully, back and forth, with a small screwdriver and needle-nosed pliers. If your saw takes diamond hole, plan on "twisting" out the hole when you have the time and patience. |
