About this Forstner Bit Set
The Freud 16-Piece Forstner bit set contains the entire line of high-speed steel Forstner bits ranging from a 1/4-inch diameter bit to a 2-1/8-inch diameter bit in 1/8-inch increments. These bits are ideal for drilling flat bottom holes, pocket holes, and overlapping holes; and they come packaged in a sturdy wooden case for protection and convenient storage. These bits will drill plywood, hard wood, and soft wood in hand-held drills and drill presses.

Applications
Use these bits to drill flat bottom holes, pocket holes, or overlapping holes in plywoods, hardwoods, and softwoods. They work in handheld drills and drill presses.

These bits are covered by Freud's limited one-year warranty.

I'm not really sure what foozleface was talking about. I had a project where I needed to bore a 3/4" hole through the end-grain of hard maple, which is significantly harder on a bit than edge grain. Upon the recommendation of a 30-year master woodworker, I purchased the Freud forstner bits. He told me that Freud was the best and I haven't been able to prove him wrong. I drilled through that maple like butter. Freud sold me.

For precision holes the best bits are forstner bits. If you work with wood like I do than you want the best. These bits will not chip your wood like other bits.

Nice set - well presented. We have a single Freud Diablo Forstner bit we bought for a special purpose and decided on this set as that bit gave us excellent service.
