SWEET!! Beautiful Cuts!,
This review is from: Freud LU83R010 10-Inch 50 Tooth ATB Thin Kerf Combination Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor and PermaShield Coating (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this for my Delta Contractor to use saw while I had my TK WWII sharpened and the cuts are better than the Forrest. Rips are glass smooth and no splintering in crosscuts. And it is so quiet I can hardly tell there's a blade on the saw.

I agree this blade makes a smooth cut but it burns cherry while ripping too slow. Here are my initial findings. Pros: Cuts smooth and glass-like but only if you push through evenly and don't stop. Less tear-out and great crosscuts. Very quiet, very sharp and doesn't bog down. Cons: Burns if you rip without even speed. Must push harder woods faster to avoid burns. Produces very fine sawdust and more flys up above the blade (yes, in your face) than below. This is probably to be expected. It's probably the tradeoff to get a smooth, finish cut.
What would I do different? I would still buy a Freud as the quality is 2nd to none for the price but I would choose a wider kerf on the assumption that the thin kerf in this case appears to allow too much blade contact with the wood probably accelerating the burn. This I believe because the new blade leaves a red mark on the wood sometimes (easily removed) from the blade coating. You can also clearly see the carbide cutters are only slightly wider than the blade. I will try a featherboard next to eliminate the burn. I would still buy this blade and deal with the occasional burn as most woodworkers need a thin kerf blade for one reason or another. Resawing is the best reason to need a thin-kerf blade in my humble opinion.

motor didn't change pitch at all.,

I have a Bosch 4000 Contractor's table saw. I replaced the factory blade with the Freud thin kerf as an upgrade i suspected would make a difference with an "underpowered saw." I was right. I've cut 3/4 oak and you cannot hear the motor change pitch. I suspect that the thin kerf helps. Cuts are ready for glue up. I used a couple of the Frued stablizer disks for good measure. That much inertia has got to be good for something, right? The rip blade is just as good. There might be better blades, but this one is good enough for me.

Can't beat this ATB/Flat tooth combination blade for general every day use on the table saw. I use a zero clearance insert in the table and this blade excels at everything except the trickiest materials..(two sided melamines, ripping thick hard wood, etc.)It is also the safest combo blade I have used...will NOT kick back on you unlike several other well known brands because of the way the teeth are designed...whisper smooth, teflon coated, new laser cut expansion slots, thinner kerf with a lot of carbide to provide several sharpenings...a great investment. I also like the bright red color of these Freud blades. As a woodworker that experienced a bad accident when I was just learning the trade, the red color of the blades immediately make you pay attention when flipping that power switch....subtle but psychological trigger for added safety....Best price and qualified for free shipping from Amazon, how can you beat that?

Great blade for the price. This blade handles all my cutting needs with ease....clean crosscuts, strong rip cuts, and even does a decent job on sheetgoods. It brought new life to my old 1hp contractor saw! It made a noticeable difference!

Before buying this blade, I have mostly used a Delta combination blade (1/8" kerf, 50 tooth) and a Freud 60 tooth blade (3/32" kerf) for the past few years. The former came with my saw, the latter I bought thinking I always wanted ultra-smooth cuts. The need for a new blade came when I chipped off a tooth from the Freud 60 (so now it's a 59) courtesy an 18-gauge brad.
This blade was recommended to me by a Freud rep at a Woodcraft store one weekend. He listened to what I mostly do (lots of plywood, some pine and some hardwood, some 2x4s) and said I should give the LU83 a try. I'm really glad I listened to his advice. The blade is very quiet. There is almost no additional noise when I feed 3/4" MDF, and no apparent resistance - I don't have to push any harder to keep the same feed speed, and the blade does not seem to slow at all. The tired cliche applies: like a hot knife through butter. I think the 60-tooth Freud gave slightly smoother cuts, but not so much that I care about it. The 60-tooth blade also had more of a tendency to scorch the wood and leave burn marks, sometimes made smoke (especially in re-sawing), but it probably needs to be sharpened. The others who have advised keeping a constant feed rate to avoid them with this blade are correct, and I think it may be true for any blade. Rockler had a twenty dollar off coupon for purchases over fifty, so it was a deal and a half at thirty five. It is still worth getting at the Amazon price. I am very happy with the performance of this blade. A good complement to this blade is one especially well suited to smooth cuts through laminated material or hardwood plywood, without tear-out. See also my review on the 60 tooth Freud, to be posted shortly. FYI I am a "weekend warrior" woodworker of nearly intermediate experience. My table saw gets a lot of use but on an irregular basis.

While the blade is of excellant quality it functions much better as a cut off blade than ripping blade. You can rip with it but it is very slow.

I purchased my first and last tablesaw (JET) and purchased the blade a bit later after researching the different types and manufactures. If you can purchase a tablesaw blade better than this it would suprize me. It truly gives you a glue ready joint. I have learned over the years that new items sometimes only work well for a short time and than they are not worth the money you paid. After a few weeks, but not much use, it still cut as clean as a jointer would do.
