About the 10-Inch 24-Tooth FTG Thin Kerf Ripping Saw Blade
This exceptional Freud blade requires less energy to feed the material into the saw blade, and eases the strain on your power tool. The "fusion" tooth design gives glass smooth side finishes as well as a chip-free top and bottom during both ripping and crosscutting applications; and the Perma-Shield permanent non-stick coating reduces friction, protecting this thin kerf saw blade against corrosion, gumming and pitch build-up. This laser blade made from high-strength steel is built for long life and precision, and it comes pre-tensioned to remain flat through the shocks from cutting and stresses from turning at high speeds. Its anti-vibration reed design eliminates all vibration and produces the cleanest cuts possible, making the use of a stabilizer unnecessary.
Applications
This blade gives new life to underpowered table saws and radial arm saws because the thin kerf does not require much horsepower. The Perma-Shield coating helps this blade pull 1/3 less on the saw, which translates into over 33% more cutting power. The ideal working range is from 3/4 to 2-3/4-inch thick wood, plywood, laminate, or chip board.

This review is from: Freud LU87R010 10-Inch 24-Tooth FTG Thin Kerf Ripping Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor and PermaShield Coating (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have a Jet contractor-style saw, and the standard Freud rip blade just wasn't getting the job done for me. I didn't realize my expensive saw was considered "underpowered." With a standard rip blade, I kept burning hardwood and throwing breakers. However, this blade made all the difference. I can rip 2" hardwood stock without bogging down or throwing breakers. Plus, the rip cut is very smooth. Highly recommended.

This blade will readily slice through full-height rips in hardwood, and give very good surface finish in rips or crosscuts. At least on a "2hp" universal-motor saw.The hook and lead angles of the teeth are very aggressive, and seem to result in the one weakness of this blade- hitting ANY metal will chip teeth. Period. A tiny little staple will suffice to chip some.

This blade was recommended to me and I've had excellent rips with it. It goes through 2" oak without problems. I won't use my combo-blade for ripping because its worth it to swap out for this one. Highly recommended.
