These high-quality eight-inch, 22-tooth blades with 5/8-inch arbors cut dadoes and grooves that are clean, flat, and virtually splinter free. Cuts made by these blades are accurate the first time, saving you from making repeated passes over the same workpiece.
Flexibility for Cutting Hardwoods, Laminates, and More
The Freud SD308 fits all table saws and radial-arm saws and accommodates a wide range of materials, so you can use it from project to project. Use it to create dadoes and grooves in hardwood, softwood, chip board, plywood, and laminate (not recommended for non-ferrous materials).
Two-Wing Chippers for Truly Flat-Bottom Grooves
The set's five included chippers (four 1/8-inch chippers and one 1/16-inch chipper) save you time and energy. With their two-wing design, they efficiently remove waste material and smooth the edges of your workpiece. Plus, with the help of the included Shim Set, you can fine-tune your cuts from 1/4 to 13/16 inch in 1/16-inch increments amd adkist the kerf width by as little a .04 inches.
Anti-Kickback Design for Safe Operation
The quality of this dado set is enhanced by its anti-kickback design, which gives you an added margin of safety while you work.
MicroGrain Carbide Tips for Long-Lasting Performance
So you can get maximum performance out of this set, the blade components are constructed with Freud's TiCo Hi-Density Carbide. This means the blades can withstand numerous sharpenings and still retain their precision. And a Tri-metal Brazing process gives the blades impact resistance, so they last for the long term without dulling (a condition that can cause torn wood and uneven cuts).

Clean and sharp dados,
By Alan L. Wieskamp (Hills, Iowa United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Freud SD308 8-Inch Safety Dados (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've run this dado set through just about every material there is and it produces sharp sidewalls and flat bottoms every time. The blades run true and with about 150 lineal feet of material run through, the teeth are still sharp. Just remember to clean the resin or glue residue from the cavity behind each tooth as it builds up easily and starts to burn the work piece. I have a Jet contractor's saw with the 1.5 hp motor. The dado insert you can order from Jet will only accomodate a 6" dado set. You will have to use a zero clearance insert to make your own, otherwise you can use the metal one from Jet and limit the depth of cut to about 1 1/4". Kind of defeats the purpose of the 8" blade. Also these blades are heavy and if you use the entire stack, the 1.5 hp motor does not have enough power to cut a dado to more than 3/4". You will have to make more than one pass to cut one deeper effectively.

I just received this dado set for Christmas. I set it up on my Jet contractor saw and cut 3/4" dados 3/8" deep in pine, oak, and melamine with no problems whatsoever. The dados were absolutely flat with no tearout in the pine or oak. There was a microscopic amount of tearout on the melamine, but I had to search extremely hard and squint just right to see it. My saw never even began to slow or "bog" down even when cutting the oak. For the average woodworker, this set is perfect. I am extremely satisfied.

Flat, Clean Dadoes,

Right out of the box onto my Delta table saw, cut flat bottomed dadoes with no splintering. Case came with the scantest instructions and didn't diagram all the thickness combinations. I may pick up the shim kit for less than 1/8" increment set ups.
