I purchased this blade for my elderly Skilsaw. I have a very small shop and have to cut sheet goods outside, under the carport, before I can get them into my basement shop. I've always had to cut my piece's oversized and then trim them on the table saw to get nice finished edges, but this blade gives me a nice finished edge without the extra steps. I bought this blade to upgrade the standard blade that came with my 7 1/2" miter saw that I bought to carry around to smaller jobs. BIG mistake.

Don't know why but this blade will not cut anything without kicking back. It will even take chunks out of 2x pine. Don't even try it on hardwood or cabinet moulding unless you've got a suit of armor on.

It's not the saw...

I have used it on Oak veneer ply and melamine sheets and the chip out is very, very minimal and stalling and binding are non existant. I understand that the teflon coated version of this blade is even better. I find that hard to believe as this little blade is simply amazing. This is the third Freud saw blade I have purchased and they all perform beyond my expectations. I also use Freud blades on my table saw and miter saw. I highly recommend this blade to anyone needing nice cuts with a small saw.

When I put this blade on my old skil saw, I thought for sure someone had switched saws on me. If your skil saw is giving you any difficulty at all, try switching to this blade and see how it should be done! I've been cutting some 1/4" oak finish beaded paneling and I don't even have to turn it face down. My old saw blade would have chipped and torn out much of the oak finish if I tried to saw it face up. Not this blade. I rubbed the bottom of the saw with wax paper and away I went. Not a mark to be seen. Great blade!

If I've ever had proof that spending a few more $ for quality is worth it, this is it. Bought for project calling for 4 sheets of 3/4 plywood. Am using Asian Birch plywood. Almost all crosscutting being done with Milwaukee circ saw and now this blade. Wow! The saw glides (I mean realy glides) through the cut and with no splintering! I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I have a small table saw (Uses 7 1/4 blades) and it is pretty much under powered for most anything. So I figured it best to buy a new blade from a good name and I did the right thing. The thin kerf definately gave the saw the ability to put out the extra umph. The cut is very smooth and I'm very pleased with the results. It goes through knots without even knowing it. Great price for the performance. I wonder what their higher priced blades can do?

Why haven't I heard of Frued Blades before. This is the best trim blade I have ever purchased. I cut the bottom off all my doors (26 in all), never nicked a single door. Can't wait until my next trim project!

WOW!!! This blade cut MDF glass smooth... I had minimal tear out and the blade was perfectly balanced. I can't believe how well this blade cuts compared to a 140t plywood blade. This Avanti blade also runs very true and stays cool - thanks largely to the massive "shearing vents". I haven't had a problem with material sticking to the blade, nor have I had to cut anything that would lead to binding with it yet, but the silver ICE coating sure makes it look cool... like a rim on your saw, lol. That being said, I'm not sure that I'd use the 24t version of this blade for heavy duty work, this seems to be a delicate blade due to those vents. The Diablo line also by Freud works really well, especially for decking with the slick coat. For a finishing blade however, the 40t Avanti is awesome!

This blade is amazing. I bought it for ripping 3/4" birch ply to be used for a bookcase. I used it in a Milwaukee circular saw with an edge guide. This blade produced absolutely no tearout or chipping. The edge was finished as good, if not better than my table saw can do.

Don't bother with a plywood blade. In my experience, they get hot and burn your material. This blade has made me a Freud man for life.

This blade cuts clean! I replaced a 24 tooth blade with this one. The difference is incredible. I used this blade mostly for cutting plywood panels for cabinetry. I couldn't be more pleased.

It's not the saw alignment. It's dead on. And the saw works fine with the original blade and it even works better than this with some of my worn out framing blades from my circular saws.

Saw in another review where another user had this same problem with another Freud blade. This is only the second Freud I've purchased. I bought one for my 10" Radial Arm Saw thinking it might make it safer to rip with with the anti-kickback feature. WRONG ! ! ! The kickback I got with this blade dang near destroyed my guards and probably would have killed me if the guards hadn't been up to snuff.

I'm beginning to think that the Freud anti-kickback "feature" is nothing but a dangerous sales gimmick. And I definitely won't be buying any more Freud blades in the near future. This one's going back to where I got it, too.
