5.0 out of 5 stars Great blade - great price
This is not just a good blade for the price, it is a good blade period! I bought one of these last year to put on my Delta contractor saw. I love the thin kerf design. It makes the blade run with less friction and drag, and my saw has more power left to cut heavy stock. I have used this blade to taper 3" square, solid oak table legs with no problems. It...

2.0 out of 5 stars not what i expected from freud.
i always buy freud router bits i loved the very high quality of them. i figured that their saw blades were of the same quality. i put this blade on and it vibrated more then my stock sears blade. it also made my saw bog down more then my sears blade that was dull. the cut was no beter either. maybe frued makes good blades but this is not one of them. i guess you get...

It leaves an extremely smooth surface on the cut. I am convinced that you can do no better than Freud's 10" blades.

I've used this blade on an underpowered older table saw for a year now, mostly on oak and ash. It is better than any other blade I've tried (and has lasted longer). No noticeable vibration, less stock removal, and good smooth cuts on all types of stock and thicknesses. It even cuts 8/4 unfinished oak stock with little problem. From the above, you can gather that I also use it as an all-purpose blade. Highly recommended for the price.

Outstanding blade. Vary little vibration , with no or little sanding required. The slower you feed, the better the cut.

This is a great blade. I have a 10" "underpowered" table saw and was having problems cutting "thick" stock (3/4" & 1"). If you didn't get the feed rate just exactly right it would bind or burn the material. This blade has changed all that. It cuts even 5/4" oak like butter. Chip out, even on Melamine, is almost non-existant. I bought this blade on the reccomendation of my brother who is a finish carpenter and custom cabinet maker. He actually recommended the teflon coated version, but I couldn't afford that one at this time. I also own the Freud 6" dado set and it is an outstanding tool. From now on I'm going to stick to Freud products and stop wasting my time and money.

First let me start off by saying i'm just getting into woodcutting.Just purchased a 1938 #1160 delta-millwaukee tilt top table saw.Saw had very dull blade, such as you could ride up-town on it and never get even a scratch from it.Started looking at blades online and came up with this one, being one of the better one's at a very reasonable price and from a well known maker.Blade is to be one of best for ripping & crosscuting, have cut both ways and say i absolutely agree! Have cut hard wood, soft wood, plywood,it makes no difference. Will give you a nice smooth finish type cut.I'm sure looking at cuts, this blade will give you finish cut as good as a lot of others & better than some.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hokey smokes!, January 19, 2004
This review is from: Freud TK906 Avanti 10-Inch 50 Tooth ATB Thin Kerf Combination Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have read a lot of reviews about how great such-and-such a blade is compared to some other blade. I figured that while most of what was written was probably true, a good chunk of it was probably the same sort of bunk that you hear from folks who consider themselves audiophiles - all talk and no substance mixed in with a lot of pseudoscience. In other words, Bunk with a capital B.

Well, I needed to get a blade for an old saw I am restoring, so I bought one of the TK906 blades. Everything good you hear about the blade is 100% true!

I am pretty new to woodworking, so still have the blades that came with the tools. I am used to having to wear hearing protection when sawing. I was completely amazed when I did a test cut with the TK906 - instead of a very loud "skeeraach!" sound that I am used to, I heard "bzzzzzzzzzzzzt". The blasted motor and arbor turning on the saw makes more noise than the blade cutting!

Once I inspected the cut that's what really sold me. Granted, 99% of the cut is having the blade aligned properly (and I go for a perfect alignment), but the cut I got was ridiculous - perfectly flat, smooth, no tear out. Close inspection showed very little in the way of teeth marks - they are there, but are miniscule.

I know there are some more expensive blades out on the market, but I can't see how they would be worth the added expense. Maybe they are, but it is awfuly hard to improve on cuts like I am getting.

These are excellent blades at great prices for the everyday enthusiast of wood and thing malleable. I recommend them for every job from plywood to fine hardwoods. The thin kerf marks a precise cut with out wiggle of some other blades. Highly recommend them for both value and usefulness

5.0 out of 5 stars A Huge Difference!!!!, July 7, 2007

This review is from: Freud TK906 Avanti 10-Inch 50 Tooth ATB Thin Kerf Combination Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
This blade has made a tremendous difference installed on my Delta TS200LS Shopmaster table saw. With the included blade, my saw was noisy, cuts where very rough with lots of tear-out. With this blade, there is NO vibration at all, and the sound of the blade is amazing!! You can hear it "whining" nicely! I ripped a piece of Hemlock Fir when I first installed the blade and it left an edge that didn't need to be ran through a jointer. No burns, No tear-out... Perfect Cut!!!

This an outstanding blade for the price you pay. You cannot buy a better blade for this amount of money anywere. The only better blades out there are Forest which i cant afford yet! I will never buy another saw blade other than a Freud. I had no idea what a difference a good saw blade can make.
I bought this blade to replace an old rusty Craftsman 20 tooth blade on my Dewalt radial arm saw. What a difference, my old blade kicked back horribly and made the worst cuts so i thought the saw was bad but it was just a poor quality blade. This a good blade that rips and cross cuts eqaully well. If you are looking for an excelent combo blade but dont want to spend $100 look no further!
