Friday the 13th Novel from Simon Hawke, October 2, 2002
This review is from: Friday the 13th: Part 1 (Friday the 13th) (Paperback)
The novel of Friday the 13th is just about the same as the motion picture. It discribes some of the earlier events about Jason and his mother that were not in the motion picture and things that happened and have effected some of the main characters like Mrs. Voorhees, Alice, Jack and Marcie, Jason, Crazy Ralph and Steve Cristy. After you see the series, the books are much better

The Original and Unequaled Terror Trip of Them All!, May 31, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Friday the 13th: Part 1 (Friday the 13th) (Paperback)
"Friday the 13th", by Simon Hawke, follows the 1980 motion picture pretty much word for word. It follows the story of several young counselors who are readying Camp Crystal Lake for reopening. (The camp has been closed for over twenty years due to several unsolved deaths.) One by one, the counselors are brutally murdered by an unseen assailant. Hawke creates a suspenseful atmosphere with this book, making it fun, thrilling, and genuinely scary reading. I recommend this film for any Friday, or horror in genral, fan!

THE DEFINATIVE FRIDAY THE 13th, October 17, 2000
This review is from: Friday the 13th: Part 1 (Friday the 13th) (Paperback)
The best, the original, the ONLY Friday the 13th! This is the movie, and book that started them all. Simon Hawke is a master story teller, capturing the horror, and blood curdling words ripped right from the throat of modern horror fiction! "Unheedful and unafraid of the dire warnings of "there's a death curse on camp blood", a group of local young adults venture forth to get a Summer Camp ready for the new year. As a innocent night turns into a bloodbath, these counselors find out just how wrong they were. One by one they are systematically butchered by an unknown stalker bent on one thing and one thing only "revenge", all in new and imaginitive ways, culminating in a show down reminiscent of HORROR days gone by" A must read for anyone who is a hardcore horror fan, or someone who just wants to revist the horror that is "Friday the 13th".
