Measuring just 4-1/2 by 7/8 inches when closed, this little device looks like a powder compact and opens to reveal a tiny electronic scale. Ideal for people who are watching their weight or who need to control their cholesterol or blood sugar, the scale fits in a suitcase, a purse, or even a pocket and travels to work or on vacation to help facilitate a healthy diet. The scale is computer calibrated for the utmost accuracy and holds a maximum of 8 ounces or 250 grams, which is equal to one serving size. The digital display is easy to read and provides weight measurements in both the metric and imperial systems and in increments of .005 ounce or 0.1 gram. Four soft push buttons surrounding the LCD turn the scale on and off, toggle between grams and ounces, hold a reading for 10 seconds, and reset the scale to zero. For convenience, the scale has an add ‘n weigh feature, which lets you place multiple portions on the scale while weighing each one individually. The lid on this unit doubles as a measuring tray and is dishwasher-safe for hygienic cleaning. This electronic scale runs on two lithium batteries (included) and automatically shuts off when left idle to preserve battery life. I have to weigh nutritional items such as amino acids. This little scale makes it so easy! I place the container I want the measured substance to end up in on the scale, with the funnel in it if needed. Then I turn the scale on and push the oz/gram button so it will measure in grams. The scale is then zeroed with the container weight ignored. Then I can add the substance and measure the exact weight of it in 10ths of a gram. I LOVE that I don't have to measure on the scale and then transfer to my container- losing some of it in the process! Clean-up is effortless. It looks like a big compact (you know, like for pressed facial powder) and slips into most any small space in a drawer for storage. Notice though- this scale is small and will only weigh a maximum of 8 oz!

This is a really fantastic product. It is so small, sleek, and lightweight that it is easy to have it with me at all times. I find it invaluable for determining the size (and therefore the caloric consequences) of restaurant foods. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Go forth and weigh.
