Item appears sturdy, comfortable handle. Unfortunately, if you're planning to make tomato sauce, this is not for you. The holes of the smallest size strainer are too big to stop seeds from passing through (even though the box says its perfect for tomato sauce). I guess they used tomato pits instead of seeds during testing. Another problem is the blade has a shallow angle and is bent down in the rear which forms a scoop, effectively causing the tomatoes to bunch up at the bottom of the blade. I miss my original AMERICAN MADE Foley. If you wanted to see what a real five star mill looked like, that would be the one.

This was the first mill I ever used. I bought it to make pear butter and found the mill sturdy; it easily set over a pot and stayed put during milling. It performed well and was also pretty easy to clean. The scraper band along the mill bottom was also useful. I can see why people like the feature.

Improvements:
I have to agree with the other reviewer that the smallest sieve is too large. I would have liked my pear pulp finer. The mill didn't come with instructions for us newbies:). It also didn't fit the box very well and the box was bulged when I received it.

Got it to puree soup after blender proved too messy. Have used it about five times. This one is sturdily built, works great and cleans easily. I returned a Williams and Sonoma potato ricer for the reasons opposite to the reasons I like this one.
