I have used this springform pan for a couple of years now and would have to say that I am very happy with it. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because about a year after heavy use (I bake a lot of cheesecakes) one of the rivets on the handle broke. Fortunately I have a friend who had a riveter and was able to fix it. Beyond that I am completely satisfied with the performance. I have never had any leaking with it and I have made cheesecakes, torts, and flourless cakes in it. I do use a baine marie as another person had mentioned. I have always wrapped my springform pan in foil, I don't think you will ever find a springform pan that wouldn't leak to some degree in that circumstance....that is the purpose of using a springform pan....to be able to break it apart. The sides are non-stick and the glass bottom is extremely durable even though it is glass.

I really like this pan. The seal is secure (no leaking). With the handles, it's easy to manage, even for someone with arthritis (like me). It's also very nice to have a glass botton showing through on a serving plate instead of a metal one. This is definitely a winner.

This pan is top rated by America's Test Kitchen/Cook's Illustrated for a springform pan. It has worked very well for me. When I first poured water in it to measure the volume, it did leak a little, but not when I actually made cheesecake. And springform pans, according to the manufacturer, are not supposed to be completely leak proof, just reasonably so. Some folks said that my cheesecake was the best cheesecake they'd ever had, so I have to give some credit to the pan (the rest goes to the America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook for a great recipe!). The handles are what makes this pan stand out, as it is super easy to lift. I had no problems with it, would purchase it again, and highly recommend it.

I've used this pan for over 12 years and it still is as good as the day I purchased. The glass bottom has a few scratches but does not show the wear and tear of the use it has gotten. I would recommend this pan to anyone in need of a springform pan.

This pan is great. It bakes evenly, and the glass bottom allows cutting the cheesecake with a very sharp knife without having to worry about scratching the surface of a metal bottomed pan. Which is why I replaced my older all metal pan. I guess this is why Cook's Illustrated liked this pan.

What I like: The glass bottom, non-stick coating, and the handles. My cheesecakes turn out wonderful, and the glass bottom means no metallic taste. The handles make the hot pan easy to remove from the oven.

What I dislike: Butter leaks out of pan when cooking. I have attempted to open/close it several times, with no improvement. Doesn't leak all around, just in 2-3 spots. I make a crust for my cheesecake from graham crackers and butter. First use, the butter leaked all over my oven, setting off the smoke detector. I contacted the vendor who said they rarely have leaking problems with the Frieling springform pan, and they promptly sent me a new pan. This time, I put a pan underneath, just in case. Good thing, because the new pan leaked the butter just as badly. Perhaps if I had no crust with butter, just the plain cheesecake batter, it wouldn't leak. So I've resigned myself to putting foil or a pan underneath, and removing the leaked butter before the smoke alarm goes off. Beware!

I admit that I don't really have much experience with a springform that is why I am not giving it a 5, but I remember my mom's old ones from when I was younger. They were all warped and rusted. This pan has been great. I got it after the recommendation from Cook's and I have no regrets so far. I have only made cheesecake in it, but I can't wait to make something new. I love the glass bottom, that is what makes all the difference. Oh, and the handles are genius. Would highly recommend this pan.
