4.0 out of 5 stars To GMD fans who are missing this one: BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!, January 15, 2003
This review is from: Friend Like U (Audio CD)
This 1992 recording is a classic that never gets old! Admittedly, it is becoming a bit dated as, more and more, the "mainstream pop" sound bleeds into almost every genre of music today (even country!); but these songs are so lyrically and musically solid that datedness is hardly unforgivable. It's awful that CD's like this one are no longer carried by most Christian music vendors. With obvious songwriting influence from Mr. Moore's good friend Steven Curtis Chapman (and a duet with him on "Listen to Our Hearts"), the trademark blending of electric and acoustic rock, and the vivid lyrical style of one of Christian music's most under-appreciated talents, "A Friend Like U" is one "early '90's" CD that should be in every CCM fan's collection.

Track list (in order): "A Friend Like U", "House of Faith", "Reminders of You", "Remember Who You Are", "Listen to Our Hearts", "Good to Be Alive", "Aware of Wonder", "Listen and Learn", "Come to Me", "Called to Hope."

This soft rock/original pop album put out by Geoff Moore and the Distance is amazing. I ran across it long after I had listened to most of their other albums. Believe it or not this was sitting in one of those $1 clearance bins. This is perhaps their best album ever made. I still love singing along to it on those summer days while driving down the road. You have to add this to your collection if you can find it. I would gladly pay $15-$20 to buy this as a new album.
