GREAT!!!!!!!!!!,

This review is from: Friendly People (Audio CD)
What an album. Guttermouth's follow up to "The album formerly known as full length" is an amazing album. From End on 9 to A$$hole, if you get this album you will not be disapointed. This album was the introductio to guttermouth's greatness (with full length not being to great). This album started what has become one of the greatest, funniest talented punk bands around

Before I go into the actual review of this album, I would just like to respond to the dude who wrote that huge review.
Obviously mr. Pen-names-are-for-pussies thinks he knows a lot about punk. Indeed, he named a lot of bands, many of which are in the dustbin of punk history, very obscure indeed. And he also played in a punk band, as I do currently. However, just because you know a ton of obscure bands doesn't mean you know anymore about the philosophy and music of punk than some dude who only listens to the Sex Pistols and the Ramones. You see, I could name all the obscure crap I listen to, like Nausea, Nig Heist, Siege, Amebix, Anti Cimex, F.I.F.H., Cause For Alarm...already I know that this is pointless and stupid. However, that is not the biggest issue I have with that review. The biggest issue is that he did not review the CD, he reviewed the band. He probably strayed across Guttermouth's website, saw them trashing his heros My Chemical Romance, and decided to write a negative review on Amazon. The ultimate irony of course is that, while he said that Guttermouth is boring, cliched, standard fare, he gave a favorable review to the Casualties. Ha! Anyway, on to the review of this CD. Many people would tell you that Musical Monkey was Guttermouth's masterpiece, but I think this is. (God, it feels so weird using a word like masterpiece to describe a band like Guttermouth.) Comedy punk has only had a few good records in my opinion ("Peace Through Vandalism" and "Never Mind the Pollacks" come to mind), but this is a decent one. Guttermouth of course wears its influences on its sleeve. "Chaps my Hide" is a JFA-style banger, while "PC" is reminiscent of FEAR, even going as far as using a FEAR lyric. You can also hear the Dickies influence in a lot of the goofier songs. Topping it all off, one of the greatest punk acts ever, D.I., provides backing vocals on this disc. This album is only 22 minutes long, so as a final word of advice you should probably try to get it as cheap as possible.

Guttermouth's Best....,

With Friendly People, only Guttermouth's second album, they have created a masterpiece. Although closely followed by Musical Monkey, this is my favorite Guttermouth album and every single song is amazing except for Bullsh*t and PC gets kind of old. As long as you have a good sense of humor and like great punk music there is no way this wont appeal to you. Guttermouth is definately a great PUNK band and if you dont like them you probably like something they make fun of. They are totally unique and dont buy into trends of other bands like bush bashing (which i agree with though) and they make fun of other sh*tty emo bands which got them kicked off of Warped. This albumn is just amazing... the best songs are End on 9, Derek, Jamie's Petting Zoo (my favorite), Disneyland, Can't We All Just Get Along..., Veggicide & A**hole. If you like the Vandals or Diesel Boy you will love this.
