When it's time to mow, just unplug the unit from the charger and place it on the lawn--or direct it using the included remote control. By simply activating the perimeter switch and pressing 'Go', you start the cycle--no need to fill the tank with gas, push the mower, or spend even a moment steering around obstructions. Instead, the RM200 will automatically mow the lawn by first tracking the perimeter wire and then progressing to the inside.
To help guard against the elements, the RM200 is both UV protected and weatherproof. For an extra measure of assurance, it's also equipped with a rain sensor. If it starts raining when the unit is mowing, the RM200 will stop in its tracks, turn off the blade, and go into sleep mode.

Laying the guide wire was simpler than I expected and even without burying it the wire is almost invisible. The mower runs for approximately three hours before deciding it is done with my front yard. The quality of the result is better than I get with my expensive (for a reel mower) Brill Razorcut Accu 38 cordless electric reel mower. It's also a conversation generator.
I would give it four, maybe five, stars based solely on its performance and convenience. The reason for the lower rating is a) It ships with one power supply. Which means you have to move the power cable between mower and the device which energizes the perimeter wire. That itself would be annoying but in my case wasn't even practical since the two uses were widely separated. So I had to purchase another power transformer for $37 from Probotics. They really should include two power transformers. b) At a thousand dollars the value/cost ratio is way too low if you don't hate mowing and have plenty of disposable income. When you compare it to something like my Brill reel mower ($400) this should be at least $250 cheaper.

i first saw one of these in a trunk, looked it up and bought an earlier version of this, it is the best lawn job you will ever see, like felt on a pool table, no wheel marks or clippings to be seen (it mulches wonderfully). about as loud as a hairdryer but lower frequency so less annoying. i had people ask about it when visiting and i would take it out and let it go at 11pm without fear of annoying the neighbors. the time you get back, the quality of the job, the not having to pay someone else...all worth it. you do have to trim the edges when done, but only as you would have to with a regular mower, it is fantastic. figure out what you would pay someone else to do your yard, to not have clippings, and to have it done whenever you want...the battery last for about two years on mine, replacement was about $100 at the time. i can not wait to purchase another one.
