5.0 out of 5 stars From the fan's point of view!
This is an excellent soundtrack album! Though, I must say that it's a shame that the original "I'll Be There For You" was not included. I think it's to make sure that people keep buying the first Friends soundtrack.

Friends Again is a must-have for all fans. Songs that were featured in the show reminded me of the episodes, and I can't wait 'til the rest...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not spectacular
I purchased this CD because the original Friends Soundtrack is superb. I really enjoyed that so I was anticipating this. Now, I can't say the CD is horrible, but it's nothing like the other Friends Soundtrack. It has cute little clips from the TV show in between songs, which is kind of a neat idea. And, like almost everyone else these days, I liked Phoebe's (Lisa Kudrow) "Smelly Cat." But, in the version on this record, they have Phoebe singing back-up and doesn't get the spotlight, which isn't fair because she MADE "Smelly Cat!" Ah well, it's not as bad as some of the songs on here. A number of the songs aren't up to potential. Well, none of them are really bad, but a only a few are really good. "Delicious" is somewhat catchy, but I think your money would much better be spent by buying the original "Friends Soundtack." But if you kinda like Friends memoribilia, this would be a nice piece to your collection, really.

Friends Again is a must-have for all fans. Songs that were featured in the show reminded me of the episodes, and I can't wait 'til the rest are used as well. I especially like the excerpts from the episodes which were used to separate the track. I also like songs like "Question Everything", "Beats the Hell Out of Me", "I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind of Thing", "What Reason" and the others are also great! There's not one track on this CD that I don't enjoy, and I'm not just saying that! And as for "Smelly Cat"...well, what can I say...ha ha ha...I love that cat!

I give it 5 stars!

3.0 out of 5 stars SECOND PARTS - NEVER BETTER, January 1, 2000
This review is from: Friends Again (Audio CD)
I just bought this album today, and I was hopeful to listen some better versions of the show's icon and representative songs. But what was my unbelievable surprise to find just 3 or 4 good songs opposite to the first soundtrack which has the best songs ever. What I mean is that it has a version of "Smelly Cat" that could have been better with just Phoebs singing in it (sorry Pretenders) and the most horrible version that has ever been made and that will ever be made of "I'll be there for you".

Now with the good stuff: the Intro is amazing, the clips are mega-amazing and some songs are good but they could have done a lot better if the songs had been chosen according to the show and not to some comercial wish, because I'm sorry to say it's total trash if you compare it with the magnitude of the show (Greatest show on earth, by the way).

Buy it. You are gonna like it but don't expect too much of it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the original Friends soundtrack, September 4, 2002
By
This review is from: Friends Again (Audio CD)
This CD is not nearly as good as the original, but as a real "Friends" fan, I decided to pick it up. The quotes are excellent, and a few of the songs aren't COMPLETELY terrible. I'm not sure how many of the songs were actually used in the show, although I'm certain that the used "Trouble with Boys" in the New Year's Rockin' Eve episode. Others may have been used as background music in party scenes, much like the songs on the first soundtrack were used. But the final song, "Friend 'Til The End (I'll Be There For You)" by Thor-El was absolutely terrible, and the Smelly Cat re-mix was overlong and annoying. In general the songs are bland adult-pop, probably the sort of music that the characters would listen to. Unless you want to prove you're a true fan of the show, you might as well skip it and just download audio clips from a peer-to-peer site, or buy the DVDs that are being released now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Friends Again, March 19, 2000

I had very mixed emotions about this CD. The show clips were decent, but I have heard a lot better out of the show. What I mean by that is that they were funny, but the TV show has had better moments. However, that is not the reason for the 3 stars. Songs like "Question Everything" (after hearing that I bought the CD) and "Beats the Hell Out of Me" were great to include and made the CD. However, Thor-el's "Friends 'til the End (I'll Be There for You)" was the single worst song I have ever heard. That was a complete waste of my time and disc space. I could not stand that song; it completely ruined the effect by placing it at the end. To sum it up; the CD was OK, with some excellent songs, but do not bother listening to the last one. It is worth having but only for the stand out songs included and a few of the clips.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the original., November 24, 1999
This review is from: Friends Again (Audio CD)
I would like to start out by saying that I am one of the biggest FRIENDS fans. I enjoy most FRIENDS products and loved the first CD. However, this second CD was awful. The music completely ruins the atmosphere of the show. While the first CD included music that reminded you of the FRIENDS cast memebers, this second CD does the exact opposite. The only thing that salvaged the album was the sound clips from the show. The second CD's clips focused on many important moments from the show while the first CD focused on the first season. My question is "Why weren't any songs from the show on the CD?" The only recognizable ones were Smelling Cat (Which was completely redone without Phoebe and sounds bad) and I'll Be There For You (Which was redone by some terrible artist who shouldn't even be allowed to record!) They completed ruined Smelly Cat and I'll Be There For You! Where were the songs from the show such as "With or Without You", which is on the show almost every week. Why was this horrifying version of "Smelly Cat" on the CD? The least they could have done is released the version of "Smelly Cat" that Phoebe released on the show.(Remeber, she didn't actually sing it, someone else did). Take my advise, if you are buying the CD for the music, buy the ORIGINAL FRIENDS soundtrack. If you are buying the CD because you would like to hear clips from the show, try the second CD.

This is a great CD that had just been released. Many big-name bands are included on this CD such as Smash Mouth, Semisonic, Robbie Williams, and Duncan Sheik. The only problem I had with it is that I wish they're have put more songs that were on the actually show onto the CD.

2.0 out of 5 stars Erm..., February 2, 2005
This review is from: Friends Again (Audio CD)
Like the first one, I fail to see why this is a Friends soundtrack. The only song I remember here is Smelly Cat. The last song is ridiculous and the rest of the CD isn't great.

And why is the U2 song 'With Or Without You' not on here either?

The best song used in the show and they have it on neither CD.

It's a shame that the best programme ever had such poor soundtracks made from it.
