About the Author

Karma Wilson's previous picture books include Bear Snores On, Bear Wants More, Bear Stays Up for Christmas, and Mortimer's Christmas Manger, all illustrated by Jane Chapman, One Day in the Middle of the Bog, illustrated by Joan Rankin, and Hilda Must Be Dancing and Bear Hugs illustrated by Suzanne Watts. Buket Erdogan has always been inspired by vibrant colors and children's art. She illustrated the Mouse’s First series for Simon & Schuster, three of which were New York Times bestsellers, as well as the Calico series. She resides in Brooklyn, NY.

More About the Author

I'm a wife, mother of three, writer and photographer. I love to write fun stories, poems, songs, etc... I especially love to write in rhyme because I think that well written rhyme naturally teaches children to expand their vocabulary and love books and reading.

I spend my time in the wilds of northwest Montana, where there are lots of bears and animals like the ones in my bear books! I love the wilderness and all of the animals that live there. My husband and children are also avid lovers of the outdoors.

I am also an amateur photographer. Give me a camera and I'll spend hours snapping photos.

Being a cat owner, I was drawn to these books for my daughter. We own all five of them! The books flow really well. Its almost like you are singing when you read the books aloud. Plus, they all have a lesson or a moral built into the story. My daughter loves them. I have one of the books memorized because we read it so much. Horray for Calico!

My son loves the Calico books, and this one has beautiful, colorful drawings just like all the others. The rhymes in this book sometimes are a bit awkward (not the rhyme itself but the rhythms kinda get awkward at times). It's good, not as good as "Hello, Calico" or "Uh Oh Calico," but it's good.
