I feel like I'm betraying an old friend, but...,

...I just don't like this season.
I own all 10 seasons on DVD, and I have always watched the entire set of discs for each season within a couple of weeks (if even that long!) of buying them but I just can't do that with season 10. I've owned this for nearly two months and haven't finished the second disc. I have no desire to... The acting seems poor, the story lines seem forced and I really don't find the stories to be that great. Yes, there are still good moments in this season, but for the most part I think it's just a big yawn. I love this show, don't get me wrong. I started watching back in 1995 and watched faithfully up until the series finale aired. I even cried knowing it was over. But really, what I miss is the classic moments of Friends. And I have them all on DVD so I can watch them any time I want, so it's not ALL bad. Especially considering the show went waay downhill when they started toying with the idea of Joey and Rachel as a couple... Ah, that's just my opinion! Already I feel guilty for stating it... If you're a fan and you own the other seasons, you've got to have this. The set wouldn't be complete without it.

i own all the 9 seasons available so far and will buy 10 as soon as it comes out. i agree with some of the reviews that season 10 wasn't as good as some of the other seasons, like 5 and 6, but it IS still Friends.
and to all those who think this that the Friends are disfunctional and highly unrealistic, therefore the show is stupid, i just have to say -- since when do you watch anything coming out of Hollywood for a glimpse of reality? the show is very entertaining, therefore it serves its purpose. i'll miss it!!

All You Need is Friends :),
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Friends: The Complete Tenth Season (DVD)
Let me start out by saying that I probably owe my life to Friends. They kept me going through some tough times, and I always knew I could look forward to Thursday nights at 8pm. Now that Friends has ended, while I am terribly sad, I now can buy these DVDs and watch Friends whenever I want.
Season 10 is wonderful. I must say that I prefer the newer seasons, probably from season 6 on. The Monica and Chandler relationship is amazing, and Phoebe and Mike are perfect together. Of course, we still have Rachel and Ross, who are the best couple. Going into season 10, there were some questions: what would happen with Monica and Chandler's adoption ideas? what about Rachel and Ross? What would Rachel and Joey turn into? And then we knew Phoebe would be getting married... All of these questions are answered in season 10. I have to say that my favorite episode is The Last One, which is an hour long episode that is truly remarkable. I had high expectations for the last episode, and my expectations were more than exceeded. The writers managed to keep the last episode funny, cheeful, romantic, and completely beautiful and amazing. Everything turns out the way it's supposed to. This DVD set comes with some great extras, including many hilarius gag reels and interviews with the cast. Some other favorite episodes in season ten are: The One with Ross's Tan [Ross decides to get a spray on tan... but things don't turn out quite right. Meanwhile Phoebe and Monica try to avoid their old friend Amanda who will keep you laughing for hours.] The One Where Rachel's Sister Baby-sits. [Christina Applegate is remarkable. This episode is fantastically done.] The One with the Late Thanksgiving. [Monica is forced to cook Thanksgiving for the Friends, but to her great anger, everybody arrives late. This episode is extremely powerful, especially some of the visual aspects.] The One with Phoebe's Wedding. [Phoebe's big day takes a surprising turn when a huge blizzard hits town. The wedding turns out to be right outside of Central Perk, the Friends' local hangout, and this is really sweet considering that it is one of the last episodes.] The One Where Joey Speaks French. [Just imagine Joey speaking French] The One with Princess Consuela. [Phoebe changes her name... but not to Phoebe Hannigan... to something much different!] The One where Estelle Dies [The Joey-Phoebe relationship in this episode is priceless] The One with Rachel's Going Away Party. [This episode had me in tears. Rachel says goodbye to each Friend individually, but she doesn't say anything to Ross. Ross, thinking she forgot about him, is very upset, and let's Rachel know.] The Last One. [I'm not going to put in a caption for this one... just watch it.] This is a fantastic buy. You will laugh and cry as you watch these young people begin their adult lives.

The Final Feast of Friends,
By
This review is from: Friends: The Complete Tenth Season (DVD)
Whereas most shows are creatively bankrupt by it's tenth season(with the exception of the Simpsons),Friends manages to have some inspired moments although it's obvious this show has long since seen better days.
Aside from the season only having 18 episodes, the season's biggest flaw is knowing the end is near, and wrapping up things in a tidy package. The best episode (obviously) is the Finale whereas we know the fate of Ross and Rachal, seeing it unfold is one of the most inspired moments of the entire series.Other classic episodes include TOW...Ross'Tan,...The Late Thanksgiving,...Phoebe's Wedding, and ...The Goodbye Party. After ten years, 236 episodes, and more classic moments than any show could have given us,Friends will live on in not only Re-runs,DVDs and spinoffs(Joey), but in the hearts of those that it has touched.

Where's THE ONE BEFORE THE LAST ONE??,
By
This review is from: Friends: The Complete Tenth Season (DVD)
I'm so happy to finally be able to add the tenth & final season of Friends to my collection! As much as I have enjoyed watching the final season all over again, as well as the bonus material included on the fourth disc, I'm very disappointed that the one hour retrospect, THE ONE BEFORE THE LAST ONE (the special that was aired immediately before the final episode), is not included. There is a special "feature" with interviews with each of the cast members & producers of the show which includes some flashback clips, but it really isn't the same.
I really enjoyed watching the one-hour retrospect, and have in fact, gone back to watch my video taped episode more often than I've watched my DVD copy of the Final Episode. The one hour special was great, featuring a segment of clips on each cast member/character with highlights of weddings, break-ups, fights, love scenes, and other important moments weaved in between. The final montage featuring the song THE REASON and the look at the final curtain call with the song WALK ON were especially heartfelt, and something I would have really enjoyed watching again along side season ten. Since season ten was a shortened season with only 18 episodes, the fourth disc is dedicated to all the bonus material. The 45 minute gag reel is hilarious, but I could have done without the extended Conan/Arnold skit. I also think that instead of featuring outtakes and bloopers from seasons 1-6, that just Season Ten outtakes should have been included and the rest of of them saved and added to the series collection, as well as some other added material, making THE ONE WITH ALL TEN SEASONS worth the additional purchase (see my review of THE ONE WITH ALL TEN SEASONS). Perhaps, this would have allowed enough space to have included THE ONE BEFORE THE LAST ONE. Of course, FRIENDS will always be one of my favorite TV shows, and I'll watch the DVDs frequently. It sure took them long enough to release the final few seasons, but I'm glad to have had the chance to buy each & every one. The shows themselves & the gag reel get 5 stars, but the missing ONE BEFORE THE LAST ONE and the [boring] Conan skit cause me to lower my review to 3 stars. I also think the producers should have waited a little longer before releasing all ten seasons as one collection, and added some extra material to that set. This way, fans could have purchased Season Ten this year, and still had something to look forward to. The way it stands now, the fans of FRIENDS have nothing new to look forward to, as it's all been put out there already.

Friends: Season Ten - The One Where We Say Goodbye After 10 Years...,
By
This review is from: Friends: The Complete Tenth Season (DVD)
After Ten Years, 230 episodes, and so many laughs, Friends ends.
It truly is an end of an era. We have grown to love these 6 characters and to say goodbye is quite hard! Season 10 is where the growing up develops. So much happens in the final season! Monica and Chandler finally become parents Rachel and Ross finally get back together Phoebe finally gets married to Mike and Joey, well, I dunno.... This has to be my second favourite Season of all time. Watching the last episode bums me out everytime, because I really want to know where these characters go after it all ends. This season is a must have in any collection! This time there are only 18 episodes so saying goodbye is cut short. By the end of the series I am just happy for these characters as they have grown up so much since they had their first coffee at Central Perk 10 Years ago. On The Hilarious meter, tere are some really funny episodes here, The funniest for me has to be The One Where Ross Is Fine. David Schwimmer is so funnyin that episode, it is a must see! Ok then, well My Last 5 Personal Favourite Episodes from Season 10 Are: The One Where Ross Is Fine The One Where the Stripper Cries (The Final Flashback episode!) The One with Phoebe's Wedding The One With Rachel's Going Away Party (The Second to Last!) THE LAST ONE (The Goodbye episode, one of my favourites EVER) Well After Ten Years, 230 episodes, and so many laughs, Friends ends with a bang. 10 years well spent! See ya!

The Worst Thing About this Season,
This review is from: Friends: The Complete Tenth Season (DVD)
I fell in love with this show into the fifth season. Once it started coming out on DVD, I was in HEAVEN! I could watch Friends whenever I wanted! Then the series was over and I was left hanging. Would Ross and Rachel get married? Would Phoebe and Mike have any kiddies? How would Chandler handle changing the diapers
The one thing I realized as the pending release date for the tenth season approaches is once this one is released...that's it. No more Friends. No more Chandler-isms. No more Smelly Cat. I would be again left wondering what happens to my friends. I will buy this season. Can't say as I will watch this season as eagerly as the ones in the past. I may let this one gather a thin layer of dust before I rip into the package.

We have been going through the nine first seasons in the last 4 months, listening to one or two, sometimes more, episodes everyday. Looking around our place, we couldn't find the tenth season. Turned into the net and found here at amazon.com. It didn't last very long!!! 1 week was enough to go through that one. And although we know that serie only since less than 6 months, I will already miss all the characters. Great buy, great entertaining, great time!

They were there for us,

This review is from: Friends: The Complete Tenth Season (DVD)
For 10 years, Monica, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe, Chandler and Joey filled Thursday night television screens across America. Friends became one of the most popular television shows ever and the 10th and final season was a fitting end to a great run of television for the six friends.
The only disappointing thing about the final season was the fact that there were only 18 episodes, as opposed to the normal 24. Despite that, the writers were able to get some great new story lines and were able to explore a little more of the past among the six main characters. When Friends began back in 1994, nobody could have probably imagined the success that it would reach. When the show aired its final episode, there was so much speculation on just what would happen with Rachel and Ross and Monica and Chandler's baby and how Joey would be spun off into his own show and how Phoebe and Mike would begin their married life. The writers and producers did a great job of tying up all the loose ends, bringing in recurring characters and all, to give Friends viewers a complete feeling of closure. In Season 10, Monica (Courtney Cox-Arquette) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) truly go through the biggest life style changes, as they search for a new home, confront their inability to have kids and venture into the world of adoption. The simple fact that they are preparing to leave NYC and their familiar apartment is something that weighs on them and their friends as the season goes on. Joey (Matt LeBlanc) has the hardest time adjusting to the departure of his friends. He doesn't want to see Monica and Chandler leave more than anyone else. However, it is his story at the start of the season that provides his best arc of the season. When the year opens, the friends are in Barbados for a paleontology convention at which Ross is a speaker, and Joey and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) kiss. While the two work out their feelings for each other, they also have to confront Ross (David Schwimmer) with the awkward situation, which certainly provides some comic moments. Rachel loses her job at Ralph Lauren after she is caught meeting with a head-hunter for Gucci. Mark, (who was the cause of the original Ross-Rachel breakup) resurfaces and offers her a job in Paris, something she has every intention of taking as the season winds down, bringing her baby, Emma, with her to the french capital, far away from the confines of NYC. Ross begins the year by hooking up with Charlie (guest star Aisha Tyler) in Barbados, which is what causes Joey to originally kiss Rachel. The season is a tough one for Ross, although he does get tenure at the university, a high point for him. He has to deal with his feelings for Rachel, first as she explores a relationship with Joey and again as she prepares to head across the ocean. Phoebe, who chose MIke (guest star Paul Rudd) over David (guest star Hank Azaria) at the end of the ninth season, finally gets her wedding, as Joey performs the ceremony in a snowstorm outside Central Perk. Mike is the perfect companion for the often wacky Phoebe and he fits in well with the original six friends. Possibly the best couple of guest stars were Christina Applegate, reprising her award winning role as Rachel's sister Amy, and Danny DeVito as a male stripper hired for Phoebe's bachelorette party. These two performances are highlights of the season. We also see the resurfacing of Janice (Maggie Wheeler), Chandler's ex, which is always a great event. The series finale closed everything nicely, as Rachel, indeed, did get off the plane to be with Ross. Monica and Chandler got not one, but two babies from Erica (guest star Anna Faris), the women who chose them to adopt her babies. Phoebe and Mike decided to start their own family and we all know that Joey went on to movie stardom in spin-off land. All told, this 10-year arc was wrapped up with a nice bow and sealed with a kiss. It was a fine send-off for a fine show. Extras include three commentary tracks from producers Kevin Bright, David Crane and Marta Kaufmann, which are all quite informative. There is also a great gag reel, featuring the final season and some from the first four seasons as well and a "friends of Friends" featurette with some of the regular guest stars. This set was a fine conclusion to what has been one of the most well-done series sets in television on DVD history. All 10 seasons contain great extras and are well put together. Obviously, this is a must for any Friends fan.
