5.0 out of 5 stars The True Value of Friendship for Kids, March 13, 2010

This review is from: Friends to the End for Kids: The True Value of Friendship (Hardcover)
Friends to the End for Kids: The True Value of Friendship is an adorable book best suited for very young children who are learning about the value of friendship and what makes a good friendship last. As you go through this book, each new page has two or three lines of text telling children just a little bit more about friendship along with a large, black and white photo of animals in cute--and, a few times, not so cute--poses that mirror the sentiment described on the page.

The book tells all about how friends have fun, do silly things together for the heck of it, and keep each other safe by being protective of each other. However, the book doesn't sugar-coat the realities of relationships; the author admits on two or three pages that friends can get on each other's nerves but then the text changes gears to focus once again on the terrific joy a good friend can bring in life.

I highly recommend this book for young children to read; you may choose to go through this book with your child (or children) to discuss questions and issues they may have while reading this book; and it's also an excellent tool for enhancing your child's vocabulary.

With some awesome animal pictures, this simple book beautifully describes the important qualities of friendship. Good way to teach children, open a discussion or say thank you to a friend in a way that children will relate to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Kids with Special Needs, January 9, 2007

I got this because I think it portrays some great emotions, ideas, and it makes for good parent-child discussions. Special needs kids, (autism, aspergers, etc.) might find it easier to talk through these concepts because the subjects are animals.
