Not great, but not bad,

This review is from: Friends: The One with All the Trivia (Video Game)
Friends was and is a hugely popular TV series that has become a cultural phenomenon ... "Friends: The one with the Trivia" will never be considered a phenomenon. However, it is a decent party game for a gathering of "Friends" friends.
The game play is pretty lame - the voices that read the questions get annoying very quickly. The clips are funny, but there aren't enough of them. Also the "scoring" system leaves a lot to be desired. Windows in their apartment building light up with each correct answer. Once you make it around the building with all of your lights on... you win! Easy enough you say - but unless you are a true expert (like another reviewer apparently was) the questions are pretty tough. I played with my wife for about an hour and I knew only about three of the answers (I am just a "Casual" viewer) while my wife knew about 30% (Even though she has wateched every episode several times) of the correct answers. So I certainly can't say the game is easy. The "overall" fun factor is somewhat there- especially, if you use it as a party game. As a whole, I would say that this game rates about the same the board game "Scene It". Just don't buy either with real high expectations!

First let me start off by saying that I am a Friends freak; I love Friends. I was very excited to get the game, but found it to be a little disappointing. Janice, Gunther, Jack and Judy read ALL the question to you, their voices get annoying. Being a big fan, the questions, even on the hard levels, were not challenging. To me it wasn't a game to play over and over, I play a round and that is it. It's not a game that is exciting, the board games are better. If you plan on buying, just don't have your hopes up.

Fun for serious fans, a great party game,

This shouldn't be compared to typical sit-down-and-conquer video games. Compare it to Taboo, Pictionary and similar group party games, with a TV twist. "The One With All The Trivia" is best served with drinks and appetizers to a roomful of players, where at least most of those players know exactly where they were every Thursday night for a good chunk of the last 10 years.
You don't need to be a hardcore fan to get a kick out of the clips and questions, but it helps. The real beauty of the game is that it brings back memories of past episodes and gets the whole room thinking about their favorite Friends moments. It's too bad the game doesn't include more video clips, especially to jog memories for questions your group doesn't answer. Otherwise, it's a great way to get a party started, especially if you party with fellow Friends fans. Other reviewers that get annoyed by the repetition, the scoring system or the voice dialog are spending too much time "playing" the game and not enough time engaging in some "Friendly" competition. ;) 2115|R16WI9P7JH4BZK;2115|R18743YRRTLMO;2115|R20M9ZJK32ISX3;
