Not a bad TV soundtrack,

I'm a huge Friends fan, and, in a fit of nostalgia for the end of the show, I picked up this CD. The music and dialogue snippets are all from the first season. Some of the music on Friends that I really associate with the show (especially those involving the big Ross & Rachel moments) therefore aren't included. I don't remember, frankly, when some of these songs WERE played - and I know the show pretty well - but they are all good. I do most of my music listening on my mp3 player during workouts these days, and there are plenty of upbeat songs that I enjoy for that. One gripe - the dialogue bits are not separate tracks. So, when I did copy some of the music to my mp3 player, I get not only the song, but the dialogue at the end, which is slightly annoying. If you're a Friends fan, you'll probably enjoy the CD, but just read the playlist before you buy it if you're expecting the later music.

Some strong points,
This review is from: Friends (Television Series) (Audio CD)
I purchased this CD mainly for the theme song to the television show. It appears twice on the CD, once as it's original version as once on how it appears on TV. It is a good song, but "I Go Blind" is by far the best song. "Big Yellow Taxi" is catchy. But so is "Sexuality", which, though has a great tune, has really cheesey(that's right, I said the word cheesey) lyrics. "You'll Know You Were Loved" is just the opposite-great lyrics but I don't think Lou Reed has a very good voice. "Sunshine" and "Shoe Box" are also good. "Good Intentions" is kind of boring. I really liked the little tansitions between songs that had little bits of the TV show in it. They really give a taste of what the show is like.

One of the best non-movie soundtracks I have ever heard!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Friends (Television Series) (Audio CD)
My grandma gave me this CD after she only listened to it about once. I love the show, its the best one on TV now besides "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Scrubs" (whose soundtrack is coming out sometime in September). This soundtrack has its high and low points. The high points are the inclusion of both "I'll Be There For You" TV and Album Versions, and the Hootie and the Blowfish song which is awesome! I like mellow music that will calm me down and this CD cures that. YOU EVEN GET SOME GREAT DIALOGUE FROM THE SHOW (not new dialogue seeing that this CD was released in '95) in between songs so don't skip through it trying to find it, because its hidden in between songs. Did you really think there was going to be something bad about this CD? Anyway, check it out, you might like it you might not.
