4.0 out of 5 stars Very good military story
I assumed that this book was about the American civil war, but nope- there was one in England in the 1640s when the House of Commons wanted to usurp some of King Charles' power. Naturally he didn't want to give up any power, so a war ensued.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Binding
The book is great - the binding is terrible. It falls apart on first reading. Do not buy this edition.

The "Friends, Though Divided" in the title are two teenagers who fight on opposite sides of the war. It's more of a historical narrative than a novel, meaning that it is mostly about military action and doesn't have much in the way of emotion or personal relationships. If you're into English history and 17th century warfare, you'll find this to be a nicely detailed, well-written story.
