Well Golden Shoulders has arrived to answer your music prayers in

spades. This follow up to their first album ("Let My Burden Be"), "Friendship is Deep" leaves no disappointment in its wake. Once again, Adam Kline and Co. have waved their magic wands and created something equally addictive, catchy and intelligent as "Burden".

It cannot go without saying that Mr. Kline's song writing continues to excel and amaze. I can attest with full confidence that his wit and wordplay are unmatched, even compared to that of any "major" artist.

In the end, "Friendship is Deep" is equally timeless to "Let My Burden Be", a quality that could never be considered easy. But the bottom line here is that this album means smiles all around, all the way through. The only disappointing quality of the album is that it eventually has to end. But no worries - that was your stereo's "repeat" feature is for.

I bought this CD in early 2004 after stumbling upon their website and listening to a sample of the first track on this album "I will light you on fire", I thought it was an amazing track and after listening to the same sample over and over decided i'd try to buy it. Unfortunately as i'm from England no-one had it or had even heard of Golden Shoulders (unfortunately for them!) so i had to get it shipped from America by Amazon. It was worth the extra money beleive me, since i got it it hasn't been out of my CD player for more than five minutes. Fortunatley i got to see them on a recent trip to California and i bought their other album "Let my Burden Be" (off of Adam Kline himself!!!) and i really like that one too, however my all time favourite album has to be Friendship is Deep. Buy it, you'll LOVE it! My favourite songs are "I will light you on fire" - the layering of the singing is really effective and original and "Golden Soldiers" - an anti-war song, relevant in this day and age and fantastic thought-provoking lyrics.

This band floats between various styles, but beginning with the first track, "I will light you on fire," you know you aren't in for a generic bland experience. That track is also one of the best - some of the songs lack the punch of complex musical composition or life-stopping hooks. But then again, some of the tracks have just that, and the lyrics are endlessly interesting.
