Book Description

Friendship Interrupted is for any woman who asks, "What happened to our friendship?" It takes women on a road trip of sorts, with unexpected curves and important discoveries; readers will laugh, readers will cry, because women's friendships are not a trivial subject!

Unlike most books on women's friendships that delight in the qualities that make up a perfect friend, Friendship Interrupted looks at a myriad of challenges women have identified as difficult, hurtful, confusing, or complex. "Interruptions" can be temporary or become permanent; either way valued friendships with challenges cause strain and strife that needs to be resolved.

The good news: reading this book brings clarity to changes and choices that can individually be made to mend and maintain valued friendships, or explains how to know when it may be best to simply "let go" and move on.

The solutions offered throughout help each woman know "what she can do" in her situation. It has a fresh, informed perspective that sheds new light on individual habits, actions and reactions, and those of others.

The issues addressed are universal; the quotes from women are real, and the challenges they share range from mild to toxic. This book inspires, and is a great tool to help women establish their personal priorities, and be better equipped to respond in positive and healthy ways to their their real-life friendship challenges: emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.

The following sections are found in each chapter:

Candid quotes from women, of different ages and stages, introduce the challenges, based on their real-life friendship experiences.

The "Solution" section of each chapter offers professional insight and hands-on, practical strategies that advise and encourage.

The easily read, bulleted action steps of "what you can do" provide choices that can be made to help minimize and prevent long-term difficulties over an issue with a friend, whether it is mild or toxic .

"When to seek further help" is a checklist of behaviors that indicate when a woman may need more than this book can provide.

"Soul Solutions" recognizes the ultimate guide for building and sustaining healthy realtionships is in reliance on God's guidance and grace. In this section, scripture and prayer guides encourage women to seek God and his solutions.

"Friend-to-Friend Activites: Creative and fun ideas to enrich and rekindle valued friendships.

5.0 out of 5 stars Friendship Interrupted March 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is a great reminder at the importance of friendships. In my hectic schedule, I find it hard to take time for friends and tend to focus on getting my To Do list done. However, I know my friendships are a priority. How appropriate that the first chapter is about TIME! This gave me some practical solutions and skills to make room in my schedule for friends. I recommend this read! Your friends will thank you for it. :)

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Christian centered August 13, 2013
By blatz
Format:Kindle Edition
This book may well be helpful for Christians, but my attempt to sift the religious views from the practical advice didn't work. Rather than being presented as an alternative philisophy as a part of a larger whole, the Christian veiwpoint is pervasive.
