5.0 out of 5 stars Crossin unlocks the vast storehouse of friendship., December 26, 1997

This review is from: Friendship: The Key to Spiritual Growth (Paperback)
Friendship, by John W. Crossin, is aptly subtitled The Key to Spiritual Growth, for in this book Crossin unlocks the treasury of friendship and spiritual growth. Drawing upon the nitty-gritty of real life experiences, including his own, Crossin reveals how spiritual maturity and growth in virtue is intricately bound up with relationships. Quotations from a wide variety of individuals such as Stephen Covey, Wendy Wright, St. Francis de Sales, Kenneth Leech and Jessica Powers support Crossin's belief in the universal need for friendship in our country today. Crossin shows how materialism, violence, navel-gazing, and greed continue to increase our emptiness and loneliness; then he offers us not just an alternative but a lasting way of life that will continually enrich and sustain, comfort and challenge us as we reach out to one another in friendship. Read this book and rediscover the wonders of friendship. I purchased six copies for Christmas gifts. I should have purchased at least a dozen.
