I wish you could sit down next to me and flip through this book one time ... that's all it would take. It is beautiful, and wholly in the FWY spirit, from the cushy covers to the layout and the minimal text. It covers all the FWY 'angles' - from plush toys to drawings, paintings and collage to some great photography from the films and installations around the world, to what appear to be the 'historic' lab photos of the Friends' original emergence!

I will admit that I had some hesitancy in buying this - I'm a fan, but how could that eerie sweetness of FWY ever be conveyed in the pages of a cold book? But, fear not - if any of FWY's work (the films, toys, balloons, paintings or the installations from hotels in Copenhagen to museums in Miami) has ever struck your fancy in the least, you owe it to yourself to get this book ASAP. If FWY is new to you, here's a (necessarily inadequate) introduction - a (Quicktime) stop-action film FWY made for Nike, that may convey their approach to their art, if nothing more.

In keeping with the generous spirit of the art itself, the book does not skimp - of the 175 pages, fully 170 are full-page color renditions (!!!), with just enough text to entice.

I also think that this would be an ideal book for spending time with an imaginative or creative child. The characters, the situations, the variety and especially the overwhelming sense of fun is sure to stimulate both a child's imagination and an adult's aesthetic joy. The layout is rich and dense, and no matter how closely you have followed FWY's careers, you are going to see dozens and dozens of pages of work here that you never could have imagined.

If I could think of better superlatives for this book, I would use 'em. But I can't ... so you will have to see and enjoy it, and then just try for yourself to describe it!

Anyone from 4 to 104 can spend a relaxing hour in this book exploring the Friends' world of imagery, and once you put it down life seems a bit easier.

If you like Modern Art, or Toys, or Design or all three you will love this book. Not only are the photographs and the items shown a treat to browse through, the book itself is a treat to hold (and behold) with it's cushioned cover and eye catching grahics. No Modern Art Book collection would be truely complete with out this fun book and if you own even one of the great art toys this book showcases, then you MUST have it.

Somewhere in heaven J.M. Barrie is hugging his Malfi and smiling. Sam Borkson and Arturo Sandova (AKA Friends with You) get it. There art is for kids, adults, anyone who is happy or needs to get happy. This book will put a smile on your face and make your heart feel warm and fuzzy. The worlds they create are beautiful magical places, the creates sweet and charming and friendly. The artwork is showcased beatifully, the shots are clear, it's well organized. I love this book so much. I know I sound like a 12 year-old girl talking about a puppy, but I'm a 30 year-old male talking about an art book. And that is why this book is pure magic. Please, please buy it.

I bought this book for my daughter as she loves the quirky dolls from Friends. THe book is very artistic and amd creative. I am very happy with my purchase.
